Chir Chir Fusion Chicken Factory Pavilion KL: Famous Korean Fried Chicken

Chir Chir Fusion Chicken Factory (치르치르, pronounced as chi-re chi-re) , the long-awaited popular Korean fried chicken restaurant from South Korea has finally made their way into Malaysia, setting up their first outlet in Pavilion Elite KL!

With over 100 stores across South Korea, China, Taiwan, Indonesia, Singapore, and the number is still counting, Chir Chir chicken certainly doesn’t go famous for no reason. The brand is well-known for its freshly cooked chicken in different varieties, from signature Chir Chir Fried chicken to Nest Snow Chicken, Garlic Roasted Chicken, Spicy BBQ Chicken, Honey Butter Chicken and side dishes such as Mac & Cheese, Mussel & Seafood Soup, Spicy Topokki, Honey Grape Salad, amongst others. Chir Chir never use pre-fried and neither frozen chicken. Chicken are pre-marinated for hours with proprietary marination sauce from Korea’s recipe to ensure the best, consistent flavour to all diners.

Crispy Fried Chicken & Spicy Wings  RM49.90 + RM7 to mixed platter

Flipping through Chir Chir Chicken menu, you will realize that most items here are generous in portion. In other words, it is best to enjoy these delicious chicken with your friends, family, colleagues and loved ones! Afterall, good things are meant to be shared isn’t?

Let’s get your chicken feast started with signature Fried Chicken, available in three main flavours – Crispy Fried Chicken (Original), Spicy Chicken and Garlicky Chicken. We topped up RM7 to change half of the portion into the Spicy version. For these 3 flavours, diners can opt for either chicken wings, boneless chicken tenders or whole chicken cut in 15 pieces. We personally recommend to have whole chicken so that you can enjoy different parts of the chicken. What makes it worthwhile  is, every piece is succulent and juicy, even the chicken breast is good. Chir Chir special marination rocks!

Garlicky Chicken RM56.90

Flavour wise, Summerkid loves the the original version, simple at its best – crisp outside, locked with juiciness inside; while Summergirl prefers the spicy – manageable spiciness level with hints of sweetness to complement. We were told that Garlicky Chicken is another best seller here. Interesting combination of soy sauce, topped with garlic flakes.

Honey Butter Chicken RM56.90

Next up, Honey Butter Chicken. Boneless fried chicken chunks, potato wedges and toppokki tossed in honey butter sauce, finish with honey butter seasoning powder, dried cranberries and sliced almonds. Accompanied by honey-ed mayo garlic for extra kick! Love that the sweetness is not overpowered, but pleasing sugary taste lacing around to enhance the overall flavour.

Nest Snow Chicken RM62.90

If you ever visited Chir Chir in Seoul before, you may know that Snow Nest is rated as one of the best dishes on Chir Chir menu. We too, have to admit this after trying it out! A bed of cream sauce laid over with sweet potato puree, then heaped with spicy chicken tenders, topped with a swirl of whipped cream, drizzled with parmesan, cheddar and mozzarella. Take a piece of chicken and “scoop up” a little bit of each ingredients, so much flavours! Really yums! Summergirl’s top favourite among all.

Spicy BBQ Roasted Chicken RM62.90

While fried chicken is taking the limelight, roast chicken in Chir Chir is not shadowed too. In fact, it taste as good as the fried that we hope the mixed platter can be half fried + half roast, because so hard to choose! Spicy BBQ Roasted Chicken is our top pick. If you love spicy food as much as we do, this is the dish you should go for when in Chir Chir. Fiery hot that almost numb our lips but can’t stop eating..LOL. Tone down the spiciness with sour cream, it works.

Honey Grape Salad RM29.90

Deep fried, meat, cheese – we are feeling so sorry to our waistline. Had to compensate with a bowl of Honey Grape Salad, sort of haha. Grape, ricotta cheese, walnut, pine nuts, almonds and whipped cream. Have some in between your fried chicken meal, the salad, especially grapes, is so refreshing to help balanced up heaviness from meat.

Topokki & Cheese RM15.90

Spicy Topokki RM29.90

More to go with special dishes – Topokki & Cheese and Spicy Topokki for this time, keeping the rest for next visit. Spicy Topokki here tastes similar to those we had in Seoul, but spicier. Korean rice cake, fish cakes, Cajun battered deep fried squid, hard boiled egg dressed in a bed of thick, tongue-numbing hot sauce.

Chir Cream Beer RM24.50/350ml, RM34.90/650ml

A meal in Chir Chir Fusion Chicken Factory is incomplete with pairing your fried chicken with their signature Chir Cream Beer for “chimaek” (炸雞配啤酒) happiness – a mouthful of chicken, a big sip of beer, and repeat! Cocktail and mocktail in berries, green grape, tropical passion fruit and blue lemonade base; ice blended mango smoothies with raspberry slush/ lime-flavoured slush/tropical fruit slush from Double Smoothies section is noteworthy too! You can have it with or without Soju.
