This coming 26 May to 25 June 2017, visit Vasco’s at Hilton Kuala Lumpur Hotel for a gastronomy journey of Peranakan food, a cuisine prides for its myriad of colours, flavours and presentation. Chef Faizal, Chef Jamsari and Chef Hanis has put together dishes that capture the liveliness of the culture and its vibrant cooking process in this one month’s long buffet dinner.
Themed as Warisan Baba & Nyonya, the buffet is priced at RM188nett per person and RM100nett for children below 12 years old. Diners can Look forward to an evening of authentic Peranakan flavours, so get your stomach ready for signature dishes such as Pai Tee, Fish Maw Salad, Kambing Panggang Berempah Portugis, Ikan Pari Gerang Asam, Ayam Buah Keluak, Ayam Pongteh, Nyonya Curry Laksa and more!
Another not-to-forget must-have – Kambing Panggang Berempah Portugis with Nasi Briyani. We’ll always ask for meat part at the outer side, as we enjoy the aroma of fire-induced char from roasting, with flavours of herbs and spices laced on it. Superb with fluffy nasi briyani.
We aren’t persons who will target on salad and appetisers when having buffet but this Kerabu Kaki Ayam with Soo Hoon from Vasco’s Hilton KL is good. Chewy noodles and chicken feet tossed with dressing in mild sourness and spiciness makes it really appetizing. Acar Awak, Kerabu Mangga bersama Sotong Kering, and Fish Mau Salad from the section are recomended too.
For hot dishes, check out Ayam Buah Keluak, Udang Masak Lemak Nenas, Telur Dadar Cencaluk, Otak-otak Daun, Ikan Pari Masak Pedas, Beef & Chicken Satay, just to name a few.
Don’t miss this Nyonya Curry Laksa, it is one of the highlights!. It may be small in size, but definitely big in flavours. Flavourful, rich and thick broth in beautiful orange red colours, immersed with noodles, topped with prawns, brinjal, long beans, egg and toufu pok, very much Nyonya style. Love this!
