Ziffy Cafe Kitchen & Espresso Bar at Sunway Nexis, Kota Damansara serves Australian-inspired food with local twist in a cozy, stylish settings.
White walls, marble-style bar counter, a mix of wooden, greyish and hexagonal tiles floorings, cafe chairs in shiny coating, steel frames in pale yellow decking up to ceiling, along with a touch of contrasting black, all incorporated into a spacious space with loft floor – it is hard not giving a second glance to this stylish cafe as you pass by.
Cafes in Klang Valley continue to bloom, but a good one still doesn’t appear that easy when ambience, price and food quality come into concern. Happy that we managed to check out Ziffy Cafe when looking for brunch in Kota Damansara area last week.
It has been some time since we last visited this area. Like almost a year? Sunway Nexis has changed quite a bit. While pioneer F&B Rimba Rusa, Mawar, Rail Canteen, Aoki Tei are still around, a number of new restaurants have opened too such as Koko Rose Coffee & Cake, Coffee Bay, Molecules Cafe, Nam Chuan White Coffee, Miyazaki Japanese and the one that raise our attention most – Ziffy Cafe.
Ziffy Cafe holds an Australian-inspired menu with modern local twist, covering selections like Ziffy Breakfast, pasta, burgers, salad, tacos, rice dishes, dessert ideal from brunch till dinner. A quick search on Instagram and yeah, food looks promising and delicious! So we had our brunch spot settled here.
I-See-Food RM31
Summerkid was in the mood for Aglio-olio so here you go, a satisfying plate of pasta tossed in classic way, taking up flavours from chilli flakes, garlic and olive oil. Further topped off with sun-dried tomato and spinach that give Ziffy Cafe Aglio-Olio a more unique twist. They are not skimp on the seafood. Decent amount of tiger prawns and blue mussels given, definitely worth the price you pay for.
Hippie Beef Burger RM23
We thought of getting Krabby Patty – soft shell crab burger initially but staff suggested that we should try their very own Ziffy burger if we like beef. Thanks for the recommendation! It was nice! 180g of handmade beef patty, stacked high together with onion rings, sunny side up, beef bacon within two round sesame bun. Juicy, meaty patty takes the centre stage, and the deep-fried onion ring which we usually don’t care of, deserved a mention. These two little golden-brown rings are crunchy, filled onion sweetness, laced with light, lovely seasoning.
Shaksuka Surprise RM23
Ziffy Breakie food list has everything that Summergirl likes – egg benedict, big breakfast, muesli, shaksuka, sandwich and French toast. Tried their Shaksuka Surprise, you will be not be disappointed. Baked eggs, shredded chicken, Napoli sauce with melted Mozzarella cheese. Love that this tomato-ish gravy is not too rich, just nice. Almost want to ask for another helping of their slightly crispy on the edges, fluffy soft at the centre thick toast bread to mop up all the wonderful sauce. LOL.
Flat White RM11, Latte RM11
Paired with a glass of coffee, perfect brunch meal. Other than espresso-based black and white, Ziffy Cafe offers also mojito blended drinks, tea, fresh juice, matcha latte, chocolate, hazelnut chocolate, soft drinks.
Muse Lee RM19
Diners who look for healthier breakfast option can go for Muse Lee, a beautiful bowl of nutrients packed muesli served with chia seeds, toasted almond flakes, basil seeds, raisin and assorted fresh fruits such as kiwi, orange, strawberries. Quite filling, thanks to the generous portion of rolled oat in milk base.
Overall, we had a decent dining experience in this place. Too full to check out some other interesting dishes that caught our attention, especially their Asian Sensation like Teriyaki Fish Sizzle, Spicy Spaghetti Goreng; Teriyaki-infused Pulled Duck Burger with Caramelized Onion, Duck Confit Spaghetti, and Soft Shell Crab Rice Burger.
