Eatalia by Brava Desa Sri Hartamas KL: Italian Restaurant. Pasta. Pizza. More.

Eatalia by Brava at Desa Sri Hartamas KL, or formerly known as Pizza Brava, has been serving authentic Italian food in town for a few good years. Getting a parking to dine here can be tedious especially during dinner hours, but it is worth spending some time looking for a parking lot, then have a lovely night enjoying pasta, pizza, wine toasting.

Eatalia has a big menu, putting together great selections of antipasti, handmade pastas, dried pastas, main courses, pizza and desserts that give a hard time deciding what to eat. This restaurant probably has one of nicest menu we’ve ever seen for Italian restaurants in KL. Those flatlay pizzas, we just feel like ordering them all.

Caprese RM28

Starts with Caprese, a classic Italian salad that usually has sliced cheese and tomato layering one another but Eatalia get it in a more rustic way by tossing in large cut of buffalo mozzarella, whole cherry tomatoes, basil with drizzles of extra virgin olive oil.

Bruchetta Al Funghi RM18

Antipasto that you can hardly go wrong with. There’s always different topping varieties like tomatoes, meat, cheese, and the highly favored is probably mushroom – a slice of toast topped with mixed mushroom, scamorza cheese. Creamy, crusty – yummy.

Bruchetta Al Salmone RM18

While Summergirl always like hers in meatless, Summerkid prefers his with a taste from the sea, smoked salmon particularly. Eatalia’s version is toast smothered with mascarpone cheese, topped with smoked salmon and capers. Finish 4 pieces for each of us, no problem.

Insalata Di Rucola RM22

This could earn your liking if you like rocket salad. Have a whole bowl of it for this Insalata di Rucola, together with with pear and toasted nut that give crunch, a tangy twist from lemon dressing and not to forget – Grana Padano,  a type of famous cheese from Italy.

Funghi Fritti RM16

One of our favourites. Whole button mushroom deep fried to golden brown. Plump and juicy, filled with sweetness of mushroom when have on its own, more flavourful when dipping with tartar sauce. We prefer having it in the later way.

Gnocchi Al Gorgonzola RM25

We’ve tried making gnocchi back at home before but still, having it in an Italian restaurant is always better. Haha. This round, mini ball shape potato dumpling is akin to our Hakka “Suan Pan Zi” or “abacus seeds”, but less doughy, not the same in in terms of ingredients too. Coat the gnocchi with Gorgonzola and cream sauce – rich, creamy, comfort food that gives satisfaction.

Ravioli di Cane RM28

Comparing to Gnocchi Al Gorgonzola, Ravioli di Cane has lighter sauce base, with wild mushroom and cream minus the blue cheese. Chicken ravioli, we call it the Italian style wantan – flat, squarish, with chicken meat filling.

Stinco D’Agnello RM36

Eatalia Stinco D’Agnello, or lamb shank. Braised till tender using wood fire oven, dressed with flavourful, tomato-ish rosemary sauce. All set over a bed of mashed potato. The meat is a little gamey, if you like your lamb this way like Summerkid does, you may like their lamb shank.

Branzino Al Salsa Verde RM35

Aside from lamb shank, you can also have Carre Di Agnello – roast rack of lamb served with creamy mint sauce, mixed vegetables, potatoes (RM56); Costolette Di Agnello – Grilled New Zealand lamb shoulder served with grilled vegetables, potatos (RM32; Branzino Al Salsa Verde – CostoPan-fried fillet of seabass with pickles and capers sauce, served with mashed potatoes, baby spinach and almond (RM35); Filleto Di Manzo Al Pepe Verde – Grilled Australian 100% Black Angus 120 days grain fed sirloin, grilled vegetables, potato, green pepper sauce (RM68); Filetto Di Manzo Salso Al Funghi – grilled Australian grain fed tenderloin with sauteed mushroom, rocket salads, shaved Parmigiano (RM56); Filleto Di Salmone Con Salsa di Creme All’ Arancia – Norwegian salmon fillet, orange zest, greens, potatoes (RM38), and more from the main courses.

Petti Di Pollo Alla Spinaci E Ricotta RM28

Chicken breast enveloping spinach and ricotta cheese, paired with mushroom cream sauce and pumpkin mash. A healthier poultry option on Eatalia menu. We like how the creamy spinach filing flavour up the entire grilled chicken breast, making it more enjoyable dish.

Spaghetti Carbonara Di Mare RM33

Eatalia offers handmade pasta and dried pasta. For the former diners can have Ravioli, Gnocchi, and Pappardelle, while for the dried, Spaghetti, Linguine and Fettuccine take the lead. We check on Spaghetti Carbonara Di Mare for the dried, recommended. Cream sauce, with Parmigiano, loaded with fresh mixed seafood.

Risotto Al Nero Di Seppia RM33

Filling, thick in consistency squid ink risotto that is enough to feed two. Black from the squid in sauce, living up to its name more with squid.

Rustica RM32/12″, RM25/10″

Eatalia is prides for their pizza, so do not leave without trying one. Two sizes to pick from, 10 inches or 12 inches. Either one, it shouldn’t be a big problem to finish it because it is in thin crust, crispy at the edges, chewy in the middle. Bravo for the generous toppings! Our Rustica is topped with tomatoes, cheese, salami, gorgonzola, peas, corn and yes, like you can see from picture above, A LOT OF rocket salad. Recommended!

Verdure RM28/12″, RM21/10″

Verdure pizza is clearly, very much for Summergirl. LOL. No-meat, filled with tomatoes, mozzarella cheese, peas, corns, eggplant. Plenty of vegetables sweetness, juicier in every bite of the pizza bread.

Tiramisu RM16,

Save rooms for dessert! Tiramisu is a must! Lady fingers biscuits soaked in coffee, complete with layers of whipped mixture of egg yolks and mascarpone in between. Not too sweet, distinct flavours of liquor.

Creme Brulee RM13

Creme Brulee here is more custardy, probably not for you if you like those melt-in-the-mouth, extra soft type of creame brulee.

Tartufo RM10

Tartufo, never expect this will end up becoming our top 1 dessert in Eatalia, phaotography-worthy too. Tennis ball size sweet treat, encasing vanilla and chocolate ice cream, with crushed almonds and chocolate powder at the outside.

Panna Cotta con Fruitti di Bosco RM13

The last dish for our dinner in Eatalia – Panna Cotta con Fruitti di Bosco. Pretty decent curated, delicately soft in texture, blending in refreshing, sourish touch of black berries and red berries compote. Like eating tofu pudding.

Of all, pizza and pasta are food you must try here. Will come back to try out other pizza flavours and Pesto Spaghetti.
