Naughty Nuri’s Life Centre, Kuala Lumpur: Balinese BBQ Pork Ribs

Naughty Nuri’s certainly doesn’t need any no further introduction among food lovers. Prides for their much-talked about BBQ pork ribs, this famous restaurant originated from Bali Indonesia now has 4 outlets in Klang Valley, namely Naughty Nuris’s Atria Shopping Mall, SS15 Courtyard, Life Centre and Desa Sri Hartamas.

A sudden craving for their BBQ Pork Ribs brought us to their outlet in Life Centre KL last week. One of the nearest branch from our working place, maybe to those who work in Kuala Lumpur city centre too. Strategically located within walking distance to Bukit Bintang, Pavilion, KLCC, and areas around.

Spacious restaurant sectioned into indoor and outdoor dining area, with happening music to liven up the entire space especially night time. Love their Al-fresco dining area – great place to chill with a glass of cocktail, indulge into delicious dishes while overlooking the busy streets, and maybe charming sunset if you happen to be here on a right evening!

Naughty Nuri’s Signature Roast Pork Salad RM28

Get started with Naughty Nuri’s Signature Roast Pork Salad – a colourful and textures loaded platter that put together mix mesclum salad, purple cabbage, tomatoes, hard boiled egg, papaya and watermelon cubes, tossed with Asam Margarita vinaigrette dressing that adds in zesty, refreshing twist. Topped with succulent meat, crispy skin roasted pork, and more pork skin croutons for extra crunchiness.

Naughty Nuri’s 1995 Signature BBQ Spare Ribs RM49

The star of all, Naughty Nuri’s evergreen. Glad that it still tastes as good from the last time we had this at Desa Sri Hartamas. Hearty portion of Balinese spices marinated ribs, generously brushed with signature sauce and grilled to perfection. Tender, easily fall off the bone meat laced with minimal charred sides, beautifully flavoured up with thick, smoky sweet sauce.

Balinese Ayam Betutu RM35

Balinese Ayam Bertutu is a pretty new dish in Naughty Nuri’s, and it earns our liking right from the first taste. Lovely rendang sauce braised quarter chicken aside, what took our attention away are these so-much-wins condiments, namely Sambal Hijau, Sambal Dadakan, Sambal Lalapan, Sambal Terasi Pedas, Acar-Awak. Spicy, sour, sweet, herbs aroma forming addictive concoction, magically turn a simple looking rice dish into a delightful course. Take a little bit of everything and enjoy with caramelized onion rice. Yo’ll like it.

Complement the meal with draft beer, sangria, martini, mojito, long island tea and other cocktails – Naughty Nuri carries a sufficient list for this. Some classic, some with quirky, interesting name. We had Classic Mojito and Lychee Martini. Other options for these two beverage types include Orang Poke Martini, Senget Martini, Kacak Bay Martini, Handsome Boi Mango Majito, Strawberry Tangy Mojito, Passion Fruit Mojito and Assam Boi Mojito.
