Prosperity Salmon Yee Sang 鸿运七彩齊捞生

Begin the meal with Yee Sang . Luk Yu Tea House offers salmon, abalone and jellyfish options to complement your Yee Sang, have them topped over a bed of colourful and texture-loaded ingredients made up of crackers, crushed peanuts, plum sauce, oil, fresh vegetables and crispy condiments. Lou hei! Lou hei! let’s toss to a prosperous and auspicious new year.

Braised Superior Soup with Dried Scallops, Seafood and Crabmeat 蟹皇瑶柱海鲜羹

Other than just Yee Sang which can be ordered ala-carte, Luk Yu Tea House Chef and his team has crafted a nine-course Chinese New Year Set Menu, featuring delectable offerings including Braised Superior Soup with Dried Scallops, Seafood and Crab Meat, Hong Kong-style Roasted Crispy Sesame Chicken, Steamed Sea Grouper in Soy Sauce topped with Crispy Dried Radish and Garlic, Wok-fried Prawns with Chef’s Signature Sauce and Crispy Noodles, Braised Dried Scallops, Pacific Clams and Mushrooms in Superior Oyster Sauce and Crispy Chinese New Year Ball Cake. The Chinese New Year set menu is priced at RM888nett for 10 persons.

Hong Kong style Roasted Crispy Sesame Chicken 港式脆皮芝麻烧鸡皇

Roasted chicken that scores on golden brown, crispy skin speckled with sesame seeds. Eat together with Luk Yu Tea House signature homemade sauce to enhance to overall flavour with a spicy, nutty kick.

Steamed Sea Grouper in Soy Sauce topped with Crispy dried Radish and Garlic 招牌蒸深海斑鱼

A Chinese New Year meal is incomplete without fish.  Fish symbolizes 年年有餘, which means having surplus in the new year. Steamed sea grouper is served in Luk Yu Tea House CNY menu, and you would probably like the extra crispiness of chopped dried raddish and garlic liberally topped over the moist, meaty fish.

Wok Fried Prawns with chef’s Signature Sauce and Crispy Noodles 古法脆米干烧大虾球

Appears like Sweet & Sour Chicken to us initially, but is prawn! Fresh bouncy prawn jacketed within crunchy batter, further coated with tomato-ish sweet sauce laced with tangy finish.

Braised Dried Scallops, Pacific Clams and Mushrooms in Superior Oyster Sauce 江瑶柱鲍贝冬菇扒西兰花

A very classic Chinese New Year dish that is done well. Summerkid especially enjoyed the huge mushroom – plump and flavourful, fully absorbed with flavours of braised sauce.

Steamed Glutinous Rice with Oysters and Salted Egg Yolk 蚝皇咸蛋扣珍珠糯米饭

Since Luk Yu Tea House has always been a famous pork-free dim sum place in Kuala Lumpur, having this steamed glutinuous rice presented in small parcel, dim sum-like instead of one whole sharing plate make the restaurant lives up to its title more.

Chilled Lemonade Longan with Sea Coconut 冰镇冻柠龙眼海底椰海燕窝

Crispy Chinese New Year Ball Cake 地瓜酥炸年糕球

The meal ended with Chilled Lemonade Longan with Sea Coconut and Crispy Chinese New Year Ball Cake as dessert. The later was our favourite, as chef creatively filled up sweet potato ball with Nian Gao for additional chewiness and sweetness!
