Lychee Raspberry Choux, Chocolate Salted Caramel Choux, Lemon Strawberry Choux

Re-visited THIRTY8 for this pleasurable afternoon tea few weeks ago, happily checked out delectable treats, as many as we could.

Sit next to the floor-to-ceiling windows, sip on soul soothing flower tea and indulge into too-pretty-to-eat desserts. To us, there’s nothing better than spending a weekend afternoon like this.

Vanilla Shortbread, with Mango Jam

Mille Feuille, Vanilla & Raspberries

Linzertorte

First must-try – Linzertorte, a type of Viennese pastry. The crumbly pastry base is traditionally made from ground almond and hazelnut, filled with tangy-sweet jam, and covered with zig-zag lattice strips. Grand Hyatt pastry chefs presents this classic treat in a brand new look, with no compromise on the unique good taste.

Caramel Opera

Orange Moelleux

Orange Moelleux, like a pound cake, but with influence from local vanilla chiffon cake. Hence, expect a soft and moist texture cake as its name – Moelleux, which means “soft” in French. Further flourished with refreshing aroma of orange, and vanilla chantilly cream.

Basque Cake, Fresh berries

Basque Cake, originated from Basque. Soft biscuit like crust, encasing semolina base and citrus flavour pastry cream. Generously loaded with fresh berries on top to zest up the overall flavours. Recommended.

Chocolate Hazelnut Cake

Lemon Raspberry Tartlet

Pretty Lemon Raspberry Tartlet! Flaky tart base in flat biscuit form, topped with fresh raspberries and chocolate, laced with subtle hints of lemon.

Fresh Figs Cheesecake

Pistachio Eclair

More sweet delights from the colourful macarons section, lining up Pistachio Chocolate Macaron, Tiramisu & Coffee Macaron, Lemon Macaron, Orange & Chocolate Macaron.

Dark Chocolate Praline, White Chocolate Praline, Milk Chocolate Pralines

Scones with Orange Marmalade, Clotted Cream, Strawberry Jam and Cherry Compote condiments. Do check out the Chocolate coated Almonds and Masala Cashewnuts humbly served in the same section. The Masala Cashewnuts, is especially interesting.

Black Forest

Round ball shape blueberry violet sweet treat filled with smooth creaminess, finished with chocolate crisp and more berries, plus a layer of pastry at the bottom. Most eye-catchy dessert from THIRTY8 Grand Hyatt afternoon tea buffet table!

Only sweet? Of course no, hop over to the savoury section to balanced up the sweetness in your tummy in between with Braised Beef Brisket, Homemade Chili Sauce, spring onion, beef sauce wrapped in Chinese bun...

..or a bowl of Spicy Dry Noodle, Minced Chicken Dry Noodle, Wantan Noodle Soup in an options of egg noodles, vermicelli, pan mee or silver needle.

More from the ala-carte menu. Served pipping hot upon order. Varieties aren’t extensive but rest assured, promising. From Caprese Salad, Shake Salad, Macaroni Gratin, Black Angus Beef Meatballs, Steamed Seabass, Homemade Samosa, Potato Puff, Spring Roll Assorted Dim Sum and Wok-fried Carrot Cake – just order and make your afternoon tea session merrier with Asian and Western delicacies.

Complete your high tea experience with THIRTY8 Grand Hyatt specially selected sorbet and ice cream. Great on its own, better when paired with their homemade biscuits in different flavours, each dedicated for a specific ice cream choice.
