Food Guide in Sky Avenue, Genting Highlands: Eat Till You Drop

April 9, 2018 by summerkid_summergirl

Third time in Sky Avenue, RW Genting, and still never get bored with this place. We are still impress with their spectacular SkySymphony show, the spacious surrounding and of course, plenty of food to eat, thanks to the wide selections of restaurants and cafes. Compile 13 restaurants & cafes to visit in Sky Avenue, picked from our few times of dining here. Keep it as a mini guide, and hope you can find your favourites here too.

1.  Nene Chicken
Established since 1999 with over 1200 outlets in South Korea alone, we bet the power of Nene Chicken shouldn’t be underestimated. Tasted 3 signature flavours – Original, Bulgogi and Freaking Hot & Spicy during our last visit to SkyAvenue Genting, and have to say that : It is so good!

Enjoy the Bulgogi Fried Chicken the most. Tender meat with crunchy exterior, further coated with authentic Bulgogi sauce and hint of garlics. Like the Freaking Hot & Spicy Chicken too. Despite it is freaking spicy as it is named, but so addictive! Consider manageable if you are real spicy food lovers.

2.  Royale Vietnam
The only Vietnamese restaurant in SkyAvenue, also a reputable restaurant which has been around in Genting Highlands for many years.

Here, enjoy classic Vietnamese delicacies with modern twist from chef, such as Saigon Fried Spring Rolls, Summer Rolls with Prawn, Grilled Sugarcanr Prawn Meat, Flying Dragon Salad, House Special BBQ Pork Ribs, Deep Fried Quail with Glutinous Rice, BBQ Beef in Bamboo Tube, Flaming Coconut Seafood Curry, Stewed Spare Pork Ribs, just to name a few.

3.  Morganfield’s
Morganfield’s, the home to sticky bones. Their slow-cooked, smoked in coal and hickory wood prime pork ribs to result in fork-tender perfection, plus home-made speciality sauce basted over has won the hearts of many pork ribs lovers. We too, love visiting this restaurant.

Checked out their Ribs Sampler this round. A giant platter that put together  3 Morganfield’s Sticky Bone flavours – Hickory BBQ Sauce Spare Ribs, Garlicky BQ Spare Ribs,  Smoked Peppercorn Spare Ribs to triple the fun! The set is made merrier with grilled Footlong Farmer’s Bratwurst, grilled Spicy Devil Sausage, grilled Herby Hog sausage, Garden Salad, Grilled corn on the cob, corn bread and crispy French Fries. Hearty portion that is enough for sharing among 3 to 4 pax.

4.  Dream Colors
Dream Colors, a beverage brand that goes beyond just creating the-very-common milk tea, iced tea or coffee. It is prides for their rainbow colours drinks concocted from juices, tea, milk, and fruit juices. Natural and real, not coloring.

Some of the famous flavours include Butterfly Pea Flower Tea + Honey + Milk Foam; Butterfly Pea Flower Tea + Milk Foam + Dragon Fruit;  Butterfly Pea Tea + Premium Black Tea + Honey + Milk Foam; and Butterfly Pea Flower Tea + Jasmine Tea + Honey. Price is around RM10 to RM16.90.

Plenty of photo opportunities, and they serve food with logos and symbols that remind us about characters from DC Comics, like Batman, Superman, Green Lantern, The Flash, Wonder Woman. Oh-so-cool!

6. Burger & Lobster
Burger & Lobster, says that it is one of the most happening restaurants in SkyAvenue, isn’t too wrong though. The queue in front the restaurant never seem to fade, from early lunch all the way till late dinner. Of course, lobster is the center stage here.

Sink your teeth into whole Grilled Lobster, Steamed Lobster, Japanese Mayo Sauce Lobster Roll, and Chilli Lobster, you will not regret. Oh ya, they have pretty good B&L Burger with housemade patty that uses 100% Australian beef.

7.  BMS Organics
With some great ideas and creativity, eating vegetarian food at BMS Organics is never the same again. They have Hakka Lei Cha with Multigrain Rice, Herbal “Bak Kut Teh”, Carbonara Spaghetti, Soy Milk Curry, BMS Signature Nasi Lemak, Hokkien Noodles, Chilli Pan Mee, Multigrain Vermicelli Fish Soup, Traditional Assam Laksa, and more, which taste as good as the non-vege version.

We especially enjoy their Soy Milk Curry Laksa, a generous bowl of  thick, smooth noodles immersed in very flavourful broth that carries mild spiciness, topped with long beans, eggplant, potato, mock meat. Healthier and quality ingredients, meatless but with no compromise on the taste.

8.  Sushi Zanmai
Oh yass, Sushi Zanmai is now in Sky Avenue too! The restaurant is located near to the outdoor area at Level 4, quite hidden and hard to locate if you came from the mall’s center court, but worth the extra time to find.

Sushi, Sashimi, Salad, Yakimono, Doburi, Tempura, Nabemono and more, eat your heart out! We had a great feast at Sushi Zanmai with a group of friends. Personally recommend Ebi Mentaiyaki, Nabeyaki Udon, Yaki Soba, Chicken Gyoza, Gindara Teriyaki, Mentaiko Spider Roll and Salmon Mentai Roll. There are still many other dishes to check on their extensive menu, so be sure to re-visit. LOL.

9.  Dal.Komm Coffee
Personally, we feel that one of the best outlets for Dal.Komm Malaysia is none other but the Dal.Komm at Genting Sky Avenue. It is located outdoor with an al-fresco area. Imagine sipping on refreshing Premium Chocolate de Shake, bite into irresistible Caramel Honey Shibuya Toast that is crispy at the edges, fluffy soft at the center with mellow butter goodness while enjoying the cold breeze caress through your face! Beautiful experience that makes us feel like we are eating dessert during oversea Autumn season!
