Nicsmann 1940s by Lewré Sky Avenue, Genting: Modern Fashionable Dining

August 27, 2018 by summerkid_summergirl

Nicsmann 1940s by Lewré, a new fashion F&B concept by Lewré and Friendscino group is now opened in Sky Avenue, Genting Highlands!

Nicsmann 1940s by Lewré Sky Avenue

Nicsmann 1940s by Lewré first opened in TREC KL – the largest entertainment hub in Kuala Lumpur, followed by a second outlet at Starling Mall – an eco and lifestyle mall in Damansara Uptown, Petaling Jaya.

The response has been positive, so the brand decided to further venture into other places, having third outlet in Sky Avenue – the latest multi-concept mall in RWS Genting Highlands. Stationed 6,000 feet above the ground, you can now enjoy refined dining experience by Nicsmann 1940s by Lewré from high up! Visit and feels the difference!

Whether you are here to toss the beer high and far for celebration, indulge into carefully crafted dishes, enjoy conversation over a glass of wine, sit back & relax in a laid-back setting, sing along with a live band –  Nicsmann 1940s by Lewré is a venue that fits in right for various occasions, parties and gathering, ideal even just a casual dinner.

Nicsmann 1940s by Lewré Sky Avenue

Nicsmann 1940s by Lewré in Genting Sky Avenue appears to be more cafe-style during the day, with an al-fresco area where you can have your meal while watching the world go by. When the evening falls, the restaurant is transformed into a lively space, with live band performance that is bound to impress.

Nicsmann 1940s by Lewré Sky Avenue

The best time to visit their Genting branch is on weekday evening, weekend afternoon and weekend night, as these are the hours where talented live band will take the center stage, drawing your attention with awesome acoustic performance, soulful songs, and more. But regardless of your time of visit, Nicsmann 1940s by Lewré always set to create satisfying dining with friendly services.

In partnership with Dato’ Lewré Lew – a renowned designer and founder of multi-award winning shoe brand Lewré, expect to see the interior of this restaurant to be dressed up in a fashionable way too,  just like how they put attention to detail in designing their bespoke shoes.

Nicsmann 1940s by Lewré Sky Avenue

It is a 2-levels restaurant, with a rooftop bar on the second floor. Dine-in downstairs, then adjourn to the bar upstairs for some drinking is always a great idea here.

Nicsmann 1940s by Lewré Sky Avenue

Nicsmann 1940s by Lewré menu centres around casual fine dining, covering a wide selections of Asian and Western delicacies at affordable price so that everyone can try. We sampled few recommended dishes during our visit last week. Mostly good, and surprised to find they serve rather delicious Chinese here. Read on.

Seafood Platter RM220

Nicsmann 1940s by Lewré Sky Avenue

Nicsmann 1940s by Lewré Sky Avenue

Nicsmann 1940s by Lewré Sky Avenue

Began with this huge Seafood Platter that put together tasty ocean treats in one! One dozen green mussels with tomato coulis, cheesy baked dory fish, stuffed Otak-otak calamari and one dozen of grilled skewers. Served with sweet potato fries.

Nicsmann 1940s by Lewré Sky Avenue

We personally love this stuffed calamari with local twist. Soft texture of otak-otak laced with fragrance of spices and coconut milk, contrasting the chewiness of calamari jacketed around it. Topped with sambal sauce to further highlight Malaysian favourite flavours. A nice appetizer to introduce to tourists who visit this place.

Spicy US Scallop Squid Ink Linguine Paste RM68

Nicsmann 1940s by Lewré Sky Avenue

Squid Ink Linguine tossed in garlic and chilli, served with large, juicy pan-seared US scallops. Not a pasta thickly coated with sauce, but flavoured up just nice with subtle spiciness. Ideal for diners looking for a light pasta.

Other interesting pasta varieties that you can find here includeing Lobster Tail Squid Ink Linguini in Aglio Olio Style, Meltique Beef Stroganoff – Meltique Beef with Strognoff Sauce Pasta, Chicken alla Cacciatore– Smoked Whole Chicken Leg topped with Cheese and Pomodoro Sauce Pasta, Seafood Pesto- classic pesto pasta with Japanese Octopus, Prawns and Mussels.

Sizzling Skewered Lamb in Hunan Local Style RM55
Apart from pasta, burger, sandwiches, pizzas and dishes which more towards Western,  Chinese selections shouldn’t be shadowed too, as they are quite well-curated.

Among the choices are Deep Fried Spicy Chicken with Dried Chilli, Mapo Tofu, Spicy Iceland Red Fish Soup in Nicsmann Hunan Style, Special Hunan Style Chicken Cooked with Chilli, Stir Fried Spicy Brinjal in Hunan Style, Sizzling Skewered Lamb in Hunan Local Style, Stir Fried Beef with Hot & Spicy and Stir Fried Beijing Cabbage.

Lobster Tail with Sichuan Gravy RM96
Lobster tail sauteed with onion, white radish carrot, onion, chilli – A dish incorporated with very own creativity from the kitchen team by using lobster tail instead of the usual fish, beef or chicken; while keeping the core of Sichuan dish by cooking it in a classic SiChuan method.

We thought there’s only one lobster given but as we dig in deeper, more bouncy, meaty lobster meat revealed at the bottom. Quite a generous amount. Worth the price we pay for. Recommended.

Deep Fried Spicy Chicken with Dried Chilli RM45
Addictive dried chillies-loaded dish that packed a punch! Spicy but manageable, with a tinge of SiChuan peppercorn – a little tongue numbing, distinct flavour but not overwhelmed.

Nicsmann 1940s by Lewré Sky Avenue

One of our friends who has been to SzeChuan China before said that this taste pretty close to the one he had in the province. So yeah, you can be convinced with its authenticity. Check this dish out when you are here.

Durian Cream Puff
Had Durian Cream Puff as our first dessert. Crispy outside, fluffy inside mini golden choux pastry, brimming with durian cream within. Rich and creamy but taste of durian isn’t too strong, you may be able to accept this even if you aren’t a fan of durian.

Nicsmann 1940s by Lewré Sky Avenue

Sizzling Brownies RM32
Finally, homemade chocolate brownies topped with rich chocolate ganache and a scoop of vanilla ice cream, served in a hot cast iron pan.

Nicsmann 1940s by Lewré Sky Avenue

Slowly pour the chocolate sauce onto the pan and captures the sizzling moments! Take a bit of everything, tuck in and enjoy the deep chocolaty goodness!

beer

Carlsberg Beer, Connor’s Stout, 1 pint size
Wash down our food with a pint of Carlsberg and Connor’s Stout. Happy Hour price for beer in Nicsmann 1940s by Lewré is relatively cheap. Like a pint of Carlsberg is only RM14, while a tower of Carlsberg costs only RM92. Moreover, 5 mugs of Carlsberg or Connor’s is priced at RM 61 (only from Monday till Thursday, promo till 16 Sept 2018)

Nicsmann 1940s by Lewré Sky Avenue

Red wine, white wine, by glass

The restaurant also offers a comprehensive range of wine. If you are in the mood for booze, pick your favourite and ask for by glass or by bottle. Whiskey, liquor, cocktails, shooters are available as your liquid accompaniment to food.

Overall review: A nice place to chill and relax while enjoying food with accompany from live band performance at night. Both Lobster Tail with Sichuan Gravy and Deep Fried Spicy Chicken with Dried Chilli are our favourite this round. Already interested to check out more dishes from this cuisine range in future visit. Staffs are cheerful and ready to assist.
