RWS Street Eats Returns for Second Year This August 2018

Resorts World Sentosa Singapore’s popular food festival “RWS Street Eats” is making a comeback for the second year, available only for 11 days from 9 to 19 August 2018!

The event created to celebrate Southeast Asia’s diverse and delicious array of food, is set to become the one-stop destination for both locals and tourist to tuck into iconic delicacies from these countries all under one roof, without having to travel beyond the shores.

For RWS Street Eats food event this year, it will be held at RWS Malaysian Food Street and the Waterfront, covering an area of more than 2,400 square metres.

What to do at RWS Steet Eats 2018? 

1. Indulge into Southeast Asia tasty street treats at one go, with dishes price as low as $2

2. Watch cooking demonstration by special guest chefs and local food blogger

3. Walk through pop-up Tidbits Lane, make a beeline for your favourite snacks and desserts

4. Enjoy the fresh brew at the charming beer garden decorated in collaboration with Tiger Beer

  A total of 29 stalls offering famous hawker delights hand-picked from Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam and Singapore will line up in the event. 21 new stalls are specially brought in for this pop-up event. What’s more, 11 stalls will be helmed by invited overseas cooks.

Stir Fried Hokkien Mee by Mdm Lem, Kuala Lumpur Malaysia Penang Popiah by Ah Siew Popiah, Penang Malaysia Char Koay Teow by The Lim Bros, Penang Malaysia Vietnamese Summer Rolls by Chef Cam Thien Long, Top Chef Vietnam 2014 finalist Vietnamese Pho by Ben Thanh Market’s, Vietnam Flying Roti Canai by Chef Zainal Abidin Balinese style pork dishes by Pork Star Bali from Indonesia Banh Mi by Bánh Mỳ P, Hanoi Vietnam Pad Thai by Baan Phad Thai, Bangkok Thailand Pork Noodle Soup by Hong Cha, Kuala Lumpur Malaysia East Javanese Style Ayam Penyet Belado by Waroeng Kita, Jakarta Indonesia Melon Bowl with Soft Serve Ice Cream by The Wicked Cream Co Ang Ku Kueh by Kuerh Ho Jiak

Special guests cooking at ‘RWS Street Eats’ this year include the highly-acclaimed Top Chef Vietnam 2014 finalist – Chef Cam Thien Long, also known as Chef Steven Long, who will be showcasing his popular Pho Bo and Vietnamese Summer Rolls, as well as Chef Zainal Abidin and Chef Mohd Fairus from Malaysia, who have captivated crowds around the region with their Flying Roti Canai.

The first day of RWS Street Eats on 9 August, which coincides with Singapore’s National Day, will kick off at 9.30AM with a breathtaking flying roti canai performance by Chef Zainal Abidin and Chef Mohd Fairus – who are experts at flipping and spinning roti canai in the air and each flatbread can stretch up to 60cm in diameter!

It will be followed by a cooking demonstration by Singapore food blogger, Dr Leslie Tay, to be passionate about hawker fare and a good cook himself. He was recently invited by Chef Steven Long to Ho Chi Minh City to learn about Vietnamese street food. Putting to use what he learnt and to mark this year Singapore’s National Day, Dr Tay will be creating a Singapore-inspired dish during the event for selected members of the public to taste and vote if it should be made available during this year’s ‘RWS Street Eats’.

Opening hours: 11AM-9PM (Mon – Thu) 9AM – 10PM (Fri-Sun, Public Holiday) *Flying Roti Canai, Ayam Penyet Belado and Sempalit Curry Chicken are available daily from 9AM. All other stalls are available from 11AM.
