The Bowling Club Intermark: KL Retro Dining & Sports Bar Experience

December 10, 2018 by summerkid_summergirl

The Bowling Club at Intermark Mall Kuala Lumpur, a multi-concept eatery that positions itself as a retro dining and sports bar in KL. To us, it is a cafe, a restaurant, a bar, an event space with appealing interior – the most exciting part to us when exploring new place that is Instagram-worthy.

Here, we see some new efforts to elevate the dining scene in KL city, highlighting the charm of a cafe while distinguishes it from the mainstream, putting together tantalizing fusion of food connects with vibes of music, hand-crafted cocktails, and beyond.

From the entrance, The Bowling Club appears like cafe for relaxing all-day-dining with friends and family. Very welcoming design, and look at the matching jade green and pastel pink! So pretty! We can never say no to pastel!

As we walked to the centre of the restaurant, the atmosphere changes, towards more lively with cocktail bar, live music, and sports channels to keep the night going. Colour codes get bolder too, with a mix of metal, marble tiles and wooden elements to bring in raw & rustic touch, very much American-style inspired.

This is our favourite al-fresco area! Expect this corner to be extra lovely during daytime, the perfect spot for your #ootd shot.  We already planning to come back again during daytime!

With carefully divided space, The Bowling Club KL sets to create an ambience that fits your various mood, no matter you are here for after-work booze, laid-back cozy weekend brunch, afternoon tea on a girls day out, or merely to spend an evening with live band soundtrack.

The Bowling Club Intermark opens before noon, hence dropping by to fuel up with their breakfast is quite an ideal option. Signature Morning Bruschetta is one of the must-haves, and would be our top pick if there’s only one dish we could order from 10AM to 2PM.

Their bruschetta doesn’t centres around usual toast topping like ham & egg, smoked salmon & cream cheese, Nutalla jam & banana or sort of, but an interesting mix & match including:

Wild Spinach with Ricotta Cheese RM13.90
Slice Veal with Tuna Topping RM16.90
Sauteed Wild Mushroom with Truffle Butter RM16.90
Momotaro Tomatoes with Soft Mozarella RM16.90
Roasted Beef Pastrami RM16.90
Foei Gras Pate with Onion Compote RM15.90

Each bruschetta order is served with bean stew and your choice of egg – scrambled egg, sunny sie up, omelette or poached. Quite price-worthy we would say.

Other than this, diners can also enjoy Crispy Chicken Waffle – buttermilk chicken karaage with tomato passata, spinach and melted cheese sauce on waffle RM26; Baked Avocado – 2 nos Australian Avocado, organic egg, green tea smoked salmon, salad & rye bread RM27; Sausage Benedict –  2 nos grilled chicken sausage, crispy toast, roasted pepper, poached egg, hollaindaise sauce & salad RM27; Big Bowlers Breakfast – grilled beef patty, chicken skewer, roasted mushrooms, bean stew, sunny side up and crispy rye toast RM29, from the all-day-breakfast selections.

Cobb’s Salad RM25

Cobb’s Salad, a popular American salad with colourful twist. The Bowling Club KL’s version heartily loaded lettuce halves, edamame, pinenuts, olive tapenade, sundried tomatoes, melon cubes, and buttermilk dressing to round up the nutritious flavours with a tang.

Deluxe Parcel Truffle Fries RM27

Freshly deep-fried hot golden fries and truffle oil are always good friends, better when it they are topped off with grated parmesan cheese and sea salt for that extra savory sensation. Crispy, earthy and mildly nutty – So nice that we polished clean this addictive snack in a jiffy.

1/4 Bird Crispy Fried Chicken RM29

Crunchy outside, juicy and succulent inside, The Bowling Club gets the quintessential of fried chicken right, plus a serving of spicy lime leaves dip for that fiery-hot-minty-kick.

Chicken Meatball Gnocchi RM36

Handmade gnocchi with meatball, dressed in tomato-based sauce. Currently an off menu secret ala-carte order. Pasta lovers, do order this, you’ll gonna love it as much as we do.

Grilled Seafood Platter RM69

Hand Cut Burger – Strike Two RM33

IMG_8239

Had a Louisiana-style burger that impressed us too, because they are using brisket cut beef as patty, stacked with mushroom, lettuce mix and provolone cheese within two fluffy round bun.  Truly satisfying bites accompanied by robust flavours of brisket. Sided with fries. Diners can also opt for masala chicken for the protein.

Lamb Tikka Rice Pillaf RM32

IMG_8262

Spotted Lamb Tikka Rice Pillaf on The Bowling Club menu too! Something different from the rest of the dishes we had that evening.  Rice pillaf cooked in claypot with lamb and chickpea stew, saffron oil, served with mint chutney and cucumber raita.

The Bowling Club KL Dessert Plank RM79

Time for some sweet moments!

There’s always a reason to be greedy when desserts are sinfully delicious and we feel like trying a bit of everything. So we had The Bowling Club KL Dessert Plank RM76 that has four types of sweet treat in one platter – Italian Gelato, Coconut Panna Cotta, Dark Chocolate Brownies, an Sizzling S’More!

We personally enjoyed the Sizzling S’more (Rm25) that layered up peanut biscuit, hot chocolate, baked marshmallow with drizzles of melted Nutella. It is rich, chocolaty, sticky – oh-soo-good you will scream for more. Coconut Panna Cotta equally lovely too, noteworthy for its delicately and smooth, tofu-like texture. While for Dark Chocolate Brownie, it is undoubtedly pairing well with gelato!

Wash down our food with few cocktails. Do check out this rainbow colours Summer drink, available only during weekends.

Overall, we had a wonderful dinner experience at The Bowling Club Intermark. Food by the ever-talented Chef Logan is great as usual. Personally, we recommend gnocchi with meatball, Foei Gras Pate with Onion Compote Bruschetta, Beef Brisket Burger, and not to forget, the dessert platter!
