Beauty in the Pot 美滋锅, SkyAvenue Genting Highlands

Beauty in the Pot 美滋锅 at Sky Avenue Genting Highlands – We have been hearing so much about this hotpot place with their never-ending-queue. Finally gave it a try last weekend, and we loved it!

DSCF2941

Located one floor above Power Plant, Beauty in the Pot at the rooftop of SkyAvenue is prides as the world’s first health and beauty hotpot in the sky, highlighting heart-warming, nourishing broth with freshly prepared ingredients.

DSCF2922

Opening in August 2018, Beauty in the Pot SkyAvenue covers a space of over 7000 square feet, featuring adorable pastel pink theme decked out in different shades, along with marbling white, brass chrome and wooden elements that match in seamlessly with the interior.

Great soup base plays an important role in a hotpot session, and Beauty in the Pot nailed it! 6 types of specially crafted soup, promises to delight your taste buds. Price starts from RM32 for single pot (*1 flavour), from RM10 each for quart pot (*4 flavours) :

Signature Beauty Collagen Broth
Signature Spicy Nourishing Soup
Herbal Drunken Chicken Broth
Cooling Coconut Broth
Longevity Wild Mushroom Broth (*Vegetarian)
Vitamin C Tomato Sweet Corn Broth

We personally enjoyed the Signature Beauty Collagen Broth – slow boiled for more than 8 hours with pork bone to result in white, collagen-rich base; and Cooling Coconut Broth – clean in taste but doesn’t fall short in flavours, with very pleasant, mellow sweetness from the coconut.

For food, Beauty in the Pot menu offers from imported US & Australian beef, Nagano pork meat, Chinese wine kampong chicken, seafood to homemade meatballs, homemade paste, seafood, dumpling, tofu, beancurd, noodles, vegetables and more. They even have Cordyceps flower and porcini mushrooms!

Specialty Meat Platter RM128.90

Starts off with meat platter! A combination of Sliced Pork Belly, Spain Iberico Pork, US Marbled Beef Cube, Sliced Australian beef for shabu-shabu experience. You can also order them ala-carte from the menu.

DSCF2993

One thing we love about Beauty in the Pot. They have this little basket where we can place ingredients like the US marbled beef cube or fish slices to hold them in place, and take them out once cooked through instead of having them “disappearing” in the soup  – this happen quite often to us. Lol.

Assorted Paste Platter RM48.80

Summergirl’s favourite. A trio of paste – Ebiko Prawn paste, Pork Paste, Paste of the Day. There’s also so original Fish Paste, Pork Paste, as well as more interesting flavours such as Dried Scallop Fish Paste, Century Egg Fish Paste and Otak-otak Fish Paste to try on.

DSCF2970

Assorted Balls Platter RM26.50

Another must-have in Beauty in the Pot, their homemade meatballs. Order your favourite of Beef balls, soft bone pork meat balls, cuttlefish balls, black pepper pork meat balls, Teochew style fish balls or taste a bit of everything with assorted balls platter.

Fresh White Sea Prawns RM29 Half Portion, RM58 Full Portion

DSCF2960

Red Clams RM26 Half Portion, RM52 Full Portion

Apparently seafood has quite a large section on Beauty in the Pot menu. Choices range from Pomfret, Red Garoupa, Sliced Shark, Sliced Toman Fish to Live Drunken Tiger Prawns, Fresh White Sea Prawns, Fresh Red Leg Sea Prawns, Fish Maw, Sea Cucumber, Green Mussels, Live Crabs, Boston Lobster, Fresh Scallops, Baby Octopus, Fresh Cuttlefish, Fresh Octopus Tentacles, Squid Rings, Dried Fish Maw, Japanese Crab Stick , 10-head Abalone, Hokkaido Fresh Scallop, and Red Clams.

Fried Beancurd Skin RM11 Half Portion, RM22 Full Portion

Never leave a hotpot session without this “leng leng juan”! Drop one in any of your favourite soup, roll for 3 seconds, take up and bite into plump, fully soak-up-with-broth-flavours fried beancurd!

DSCF2975

Balance the meal with vegetables, like Enoki Mushroom, Chinese Cabbage, Lettuce, Baby Romaine Lettuce, Baby Chinese Spinach, Baby Tang O, Sliced Lotus Root, Sliced Winter Melon, Sweet Corn, etc.

For a more fulfilling meal, add-on Handmade Udon Noodles, Glass Noodles, Ramen, Potato Thin Vermicelli. Rice is available too.

Beauty in the Pot sauces are amazing! Top up RM6.80 to pair these condiments with your hotpot ingredients. The price is included with unlimited serving of fresh-cut fruits.

TIPS:

How to get a table in Beauty in the Pot

Queue to get your number. Then you can either wait there or have a walk around while waiting for your turn. We suggest the latter, as the waiting time can be long, plus you will receive a call when your table is ready. So don’t feel bad when you saw someone just walk into the restaurant directly while you are queuing for number. =D

Where is Beauty in the Pot Genting

For first timer, it might be hard to locate this restaurant. Just go up to level 4 of SkyAvenue, walk out to the open-air area either from Sushi Zanmai or Malaysian Food Street exit/entrance. Look for Power Plant restaurant. Take the escalator beside it up and you will reach Beauty in the Pot.
