Sunday Coffee & Cakes at Taman Bukit Indah, Petaling Jaya (*Same row with Tanuki by Crustz), a new cafe specializes in coffee, cakes and homemade loaf. Menu is relatively straight forward, highlighting their very own Fat White Toast on most of the breakfast/brunch items.
You might feel that selections are limited, combination is simple, but rest assured, wouldn’t fall short in flavours, not to mention creativity, such as seaweed butter Since Sunday Cafe menu is just newly launched, we aren’t too sure if more dishes would be added in near future. But we do hope that things can be kept as in how it is like now – homey taste, made with love.
Take this Tamagoyaki Sando RM18 as instance, you get a freshly prepared, thick tamagoyaki laced with hints of sweetness, jacketed with lightly crisp golden crumbs, sandwiched within two Sunday Fat White.
Juicy and toasty, plus mildly spicy and tangy hint of wasabi comes through in between bites to further flavour up this Japanese-inspired sandwich.
Toast with Butter RM9, a more classic option with interesting twist, serving a combo of unsalted butter with honey & homemade seaweed butter as your toast spread. Toast with Jam RM10 – Fat White Toast with Yuzu Jam, Strawberry Jam & Self-whipped Fresh Cream is worth trying too.
If you need something that can warm up the tummy, especially weather is rainy and cold recently, try a bowlful of Sunday Soup RM17 – a choice of Pumpkin or Mushroom soup to go with Sunday Fat White Bread.
For dessert, the rich, smooth and creamy Cheese Terine Cake RM12 is our favourite. Or you can have Tiramisu RM12 – a more popular sweet that blends in bold flavours of espresso soaked ladyfinger biscuits, creaminess of mascarpone cheese, dusted with cocoa powder finish.
More delish treats on the cake counter – Madeline, Chocolate Brownie, Banan Cak, Lemon Pounds Cafe, Carrot Cake, Honey Citron Cake. Price from RM4. A display that reminds us about Lune Croissanterie in Fitzroy Melbourne.
Latte RM11, Cappuccino RM11. Beverage wise, you can have coffee in black, white as well as filtered coffee. Pur Er, Long Jin, Bai Ji Guan for tea; and non-caffeine 55% milk chocolate drink or lemonade. Nothing fancy, but goes well with their signature Fat White Toast.
Total bill came to about RM65. Not exactly cheap but the quality does speak for itself. Check it out if you love toast!
