August 31, 2019 by summerkid_summergirl

Redeem 888 Air Asia BIG Points when you enjoy Nasi Lemak Buffet Dinner at Grand Ion Delemen Hotel, Genting Highlands this Merdeka and Malaysia Day!

Genting Highlands, Pahang – What better food unites us than our famed national staple, Nasi Lemak. An all-time favourite rice dish steamed with coconut milk and a knot of pandan leaves, served hot with a signature pool of spicy sweet sambal, fried anchovies, roasted peanuts, hard-boiled egg and slices of fresh cucumber.

Now Grand Ion Delemen Hotel, Genting Highland is taking nasi lemak to new heights by introducing a scrumptious buffet spread featuring Everything-About-Nasi-Lemak craze and special state recipes.
“Comprising a wide range of mouth-watering fiery Rendang, mild curries and fusion dishes, there is always something for everyone, even for kids” said the Hotel’s Executive Chef, Sam Khaw.

Among all, Nasi Lemak Burger and Nasi Lemak Pizza are in the limelight of the spread. Munch on these lip-smacking goodies with a burst of nasi lemak flavour in every bite. It is simply irresistible when soft fluffy buns are sandwiched with juicy coconut-flavoured chicken thigh patty, a fried egg, caramelised onions and cucumber slices topped with sambal sauce. Not to say the Nasi Lemak Pizza while contemporary twist has been added to the traditional beloved dish.

Those who are craving for explosively flavorful Rendang and curries can opt for the Rendang Ayam Kuala Kangsar while pairing with the rice, infused with coconut milk and additionally, Halba seeds and Pandan juice.

“To evoke the nostalgic flavours of Malay cooking, the chicken is marinated overnight with exotic spices and mixed herbs before being slowly stewed for two hours to retain its juicy moisture, leaving diners to crave more,” explained Chef Sam.

Meanwhile, Paru Goreng Berlada Seri Menanti and Ikan Keli Sambal Bukit Melawati aren’t something that you would ever want to miss.

“Not to forget Rendang Kerang Batu Pahat, while cockles are simmered in exotic blend of spices the Johorean way,” he added.

In addition, the buffet showcases starter station where diners can discover locally-inspired appetizers such as Pulut Kuning Berlapis Sambal Billis and Hati Ayam with Kacang Buncis which are not commonly found in any buffet.

End the meal at the dessert booth where there is a choice of tropical fruits and an array of nasi-lemak inspired treats such as Cucumber Panna Cotta, Coconut Jelly and significantly, the Nasi Lemak Ice Cream that made from lemongrass and coconut milk. Sprinkle the typical nasi lemak condiments – peanuts, anchovies, sambal, eggs and cucumber over it to take your taste buds on a ride.
