Penang x Japanese modern fusion menu at Humble Nana The Shpere, Bangsar South KL. Now that’s something for your upcoming cafe hopping session.

We first noticed Humble Nana Cafe after getting some buns from Bar.Cook right next door. Decided to stay for lunch as we were intrigued by some of the dishes. Says, Chilli Crab Sauce Dry Koay Teow,White Curry Ramen, Kam Heong Edamame, Ramen Prawn Mee and more.

Fun and lively interior with doodle of cute short hair girl as iconic symbols, accompanied by industrial-style walls adorned with matching artwork, green potted plants, rattan chairs, etc. Finished with catchy neon lighting to add a pop of colour.

Food selection aren’t extensive, but sufficient for lunch, dinner or in between – Humble Chicken Karaage, Humble Squid Karaage, Deep Fried Gyoza with Kam Heong Mayo, Teriyaki Chicken Salad, Seaweed Fries, Truffle Cheese Fries for sharing; Rice Bowl, Oyakodon Don, Garlic Fried Rice, Miso Carbonara, Fried Chicken Pao, Nana Chicken Burger , etc for single plates.

Nana Chilli Crab Sauce Dry Koay Teow RM19.90

Chilli Crab Sauce Dry Koay Teow, not exactly like what we expected but overall, still an interesting rendition as it is not a usual occasion where we get to munch on crunchy, juicy chicken karaage together with fried koay teow. Just, quite mild on the taste of chilli crab sauce.

Nana Rice Bowl From RM16.90

Nana Rice Bowl, comfort food that is hard to go wrong with. A bed of Japanese rice, topped with your choice of Teriyaki Chicken, Chicken Karaage, Smoked Duck, Salmon (+RM5) or Saba Fish (+RM4). Sided with Ajitama Egg and pickled papaya.

Diners looking for bun-based dishes might want to try out Fried Chicken Bao – Chicken Char Siew, Tartar Sauce, Pickled Papaya, Cabbage sandwiched within steamed bao; or Nana Chicken Burger  – fluffy bun layered with fried chicken, salad, tomato, chilli jam, tartar sauce and gherkin. Served with a side of fries.
