Sapore Ampang KL, Italian and Spanish-Mediterranean Restaurant

Sapore Ampang KL, a worthwhile restaurant in Kuala Lumpur that aims to bring people together through authentic taste of Italian and Spanish-Mediterranean cuisine, along with fine, hand-picked wine for memorable dining experience. As its name implies, Sapore means “flavours” in Italian.

Suckling Pig, Roasted Octopus, Dry-Aged Grain Fed T-Bone, Grilled Tamahawk Wagyu Beef, Iberico Pork Seafood Paella and cold cuts are some of the must-have. READ our previous review on Sapore Ampang. The establishment has launched a revamped menu recently, adding new specialties at affordable price.

Decided to kick off an evening out with our friends at Sapaore Ampang KL again last week, sampling few items from their new menu. Started with Mushroom Potato Croquette RM18, a popular tapas that can be easily found in Spain. You would love the rich, creamy filling made from mashed potato, portobello mushroom mix with truffle oil and garlic mayonnaise, all encased within breaded, deep fried to golden brown crispy outer layer.

Pork Tortellini with Mushroom Sauce Truffle Oil RM38, a pasta dish originated from Emilia Romagna, Northern Italy. Homemade ring-shaped, pork-stuffed pasta, cooked in porcini mushroom sauce and garnished with generous amount of shaved parmesan cheese.

Other pasta options on Sapore Ampang menu includes Spaghetti Vongole, Spaghetti Carbonara, Spaghetti Pork Bolognese, Spaghetti Aglio Olio, Pappardella Mushroom with Braised Lamb, Rigatoni Rosticciana Tube Pasta with Stewed Iberico Pork Ribs and Capellini with Slipper Lobster in Tomato Sauce RM45.

Grilled Pork Neck RM48, our favourite dish that night. Tender, juicy cut of Iberico pork lightly marinated with garlic, salt, pepper and rosemary, grilled and served over smooth, finely mashed truffle potato and pork juice.

Had an interesting try on another classic Italian seafood delight named Baccala, or Salted Cod. Topped on a bed of warm, hearty lentils beans to make it a more substantial dish.

End our meal with Vanilla Creme Brulee RM16. Familiar Italian desserts like Panna Cotta, Tiramisu with Coffee & Kahlua, Cannoli with Ricotta Cheese & Chocolate are available too.
