Burnin’ Pit, Desa Sri Hartamas KL: Low-and-Slow Barbecue

October 5, 2019 by summerkid_summergirl

Highlighting BBQ meat cooked “low and slow” for more than 12 hours in a custom built wood-fired smoker, Burnin’ Pit Desa Sri Hartamas is bound to create a full-flavour-barbeque dining experience for meat lovers, in a lively American atmosphere.

Brought to life by restaurateur Kam Kok Fung together with a team of passionate chefs, dedicated front-of-house and award-winning interior designer, Burnin’ Pit features a line-up of delicious smoked meats – painstakingly prepared using time-tested techniques to ensure the best flavours and quality possible to all diners.

Light-filled dining area and bar with thoughtful mix & match of modern contemporary and vintage architectural details to complete the foundation – Patterned flooring, rustic solid wood furniture, dark metal frames, raw pendant light, exposed bricks, steel surfaces, etc..

Beef Brisket (RM22/100g), Peri Peri Chicken (RM28/Quarter; RM45/Half)

Beef Brisket, Premium Wagyu Beef Brisket, Beef Ribs, Pulled Lamb, Lamb Ribs, Jerk Chicken and Peri Peri Chicken are the main options from Burnin’ Pit BBQ menu, which are available daily. While for Special Selections like Boneless Lamb Leg, Tomahawk, Grilled Seafood Platter and Smoked Salmon, pre-order of 2 days is required.

This beautiful cut of slow-smoked beef brisket is such a show stopper!

Thinly slice, moist and tender with a pink “smoke ring”. The worthwhile part: Local wood from jackfruit, mango, rambutan and durian trees are used during the smoking process to add a subtle layer of sweetness and fruitiness to the overall flavours.

BBQ Peri-peri chicken is equally lovely. Juicy, tender with lots of flavors from marinate and herbs, infused with deep, smoky flavours and charred goodness.

Add-on Southern Slaw, Mac and Cheese, Grilled Vegetables with Balsamic Reduction, Grilled Corn with Coconut Milk, Homemade Beans and Mash Potato with Beef Bacon Bits to make your meat course more substantial. RM7.50 per serving.

Our personal favourite: a bowl of warm, gooey and creamy Mac & Cheese.

Other than barbecued meats, Burnin’ Pit’s menu also includes dishes such as Southern Deep Fried Chicken Sandwich, Brisket Fried Rice, Mexicana Wrap, BLT Burnin’ Pit Style, Philly Cheese Steak, Smoked Meat Spring Rolls, Southern Deep Fried Chicken, The Tipsy Pitmaster, and Smoked Meat Pasta, among others.

Salted Egg POBOY RM19 – crispy, deep fried to golden brown squid flash-fried with salted egg, Chilli padi and Indian Curry Leaves; generously sandwiched between baguette. Sided with fries. An order that both kids and adult will approve.

Overall, if BBQ smoked meats cooked in authentic “low and slow” Southern American way are delicacies that you always craving for, Burnin’ Pit has you covered. Great food, reasonable price, friendly service. Give this restaurant a try for lunch or dinner, you won’t be disappointed.
