Smith Breads & Cafe Bukit Damansara: Wood-fired Oven Sourdough Breads

Smith – Wood-Fired Oven Breadsmiths Damansara –  so excited to check out another sourdough specialist in town!

Located in the neighbourhood of Bukit Damansara, Smith cafe takes pride for their sourdough bread baked in wood-fired oven, along with freshly baked goodness, keto cakes, etc.. And we saw from their social media sites that they just launch madeleines in exciting flavours like Onde Onde, Macadamia & Dulce de Leche, and Red Velvet with Lemon Glaze. Guess they will come up with more food choices in near future.

Being the sister outlet of Proof Pizza that churns out one of the best woodfired pizzas in KL, Smith definitely doesn’t disappoint in their new serious venture. The sourdough menu offers both basic and hearty ones, so you can either go for Classic Country Sourdough with French Butter (RM6), Mixed Sourdough with French Butter (RM8); or have them topped with free-range chicken eggs cooked in your choice – sunny side up, scrambled, omelette, add on crispy shredded potatoes, Beef Kebab, Spanish turkey ham, slow-roasted angus beef brisket. If you love their sourdough, bring them home in loaf.

More dishes are available later in the day from 11AM-4.00PM, including Spinach & Artichoke at Forne, Smoked Salmon Tartine, Turkey Ham & Cheese Toastie, Big Brunch Platter and Wood-fired Baked Brioche Bun Burger.

We initially wanted to have just sourdough as we weren’t in the mood for anything sweet-related treat early in the morning but the Classic German Pancake (Bismarck) looked so tempting it made us order one. And aww-my-gawd. Glad that we ordered this. It tastes soooooo good.

Served hot, eggy, puffy with brown, caramelized crispy edges, finished with drizzles of honey and a dollop of butter – let it melt down, and we got that aromatic, buttery touch in every bites. Highly recommended.

For beverage, other than latte, cappuccino, long black for your caffeine-fix, Smith also offers Kombucha a refreshing, fizzy fermented drink that is getting rather popular lately, thanks to it various health benefits. Smith has it served on tap.

Had a pretty good breakfast experience in Smith- Wood-Fired Oven Breadsmiths Damansara. Reasonable price, friendly and attentive staffs. The cafe seats roughly 20-30 at a time, so be early or be ready to wait.
