Christmas Onde-onde Log Cake, Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral

Guess many of you are familiar with Chocolate Yule Log Cake – a traditional festive dessert that is served during Christmas. This year, Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral Hotel decided to give this famous sweet treat a twist, introducing Onde-onde Log Cake, handcrated using local favourite flavours.

“As we are approaching the festive season and it is usually a tradition to enjoy a log cake in European countries for dessert, I wanted to offer a blend of traditions, combining East and West, and the Onde-Onde was the perfect match for this log cake.” , said Chef Zahrin, Pastry Chef at Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral.

” The coconut was the ideal ingredient to work with to produce a light, sweet feeling, bringing to mind delicate snow-flakes blanketing European houses, smooth ripples shaped by the wind. Under the delicate, silky coconut mousse and coating, there is a rich and flavourful pandan roulade with essence of vanilla to add a little subtle and light touch. I hope our guests will have as much pleasure enjoying out “Onde-Onde” log cake as I had baking it.” he added.
