Wú Coffee Gallery Kota Damansara, come for coffee, stay for Japanese-inspired comfort food.

Have been visiting mostly cafes in KL for the past few months, and kind of lost track on nice coffee places in PJ area. Wu Coffee Gallery has been in our list ever since the last MCO, and finally decided to drive all the way to Kota Damansara, just to taste their much talked about chili oil dumpling and pork belly rice bowl, and mazesoba.

Wú Coffee Gallery menu is pretty straightforward, mainly Japanese-inspired. Choose from either mazesoba (dry ramen), Ramen in Soup, Donburi, add a few side dishes if you wanted to – which we strongly recommend, you should. For Mazesoba, you can go for classic version, have it spicy, or topped off with Chashu, Tori Karaage and Ebi Katsu. Soup Ramen includes Chashu Shoyu Ramen, Chashu Black Miso Ramen, Chashu Aka Spicy Ramen, Ebi Katsu Shoyu Ramen, Ebi Katsu Aka Spicy Ramen.

We had Chashu Donburi. Generous rice portion, topped with large pieces of tender pork belly, accompanied by scallion and shredded nori. Comfort food that we don’t mind returning for. Maybe a small bowl of miso soup will make the meal perfect.

Chili Oil Dumpling – one of the reasons that made us visit Wu Coffee Gallery. Smooth, delicate dumpling skin with generous, meaty filling. Served over a bed of mildly spicy chilli oil. Mildly spicy, with sharp, yet pleasing sourness of vinegar comes through in between. Try to enjoy with corriander garnished over. We personally found that it compliments the dish really well.

Beverage menu covers long black, piccolo, flat white, cappuccino, latte, gula melaka latter, dirty, mocha, filter coffee, cold brew lemonade, matcha latte, hojicha latte, chocolate, orange juice, green tea kombucha, passion fruit kombucha and orang with Passion. Desserts look good, from Matcha & Hojicha Roll to Chocolate & Hojicha Roll, Hojicha & Genmaicha Ropp, Sea Salt Dark Chocolate Roll, Zoe’s Lemon Pound Cake, Tiramisu, Canele. But we are too full to have a slice. Will keep it for next round.
