December 27, 2021 by summerkid_summergirl

Glad that Hotel Stripes Kuala Lumpur has finally reopens, welcoming you back to stay, dine and explore the surrounding neighbourhood.

Hotel Stripes Kuala Lumpur, being a member of Autograph Collection Hotels, features a distinctive vibe, hospitality and character with a different perspective on the local scene mixed with a bit of edgy style and adventure. The hotel draws inspiration from the history and heartbeat of its local neighbourhood – Jalan Kamunting, which was once a main settlement for tin mining during the colonial era. The industry boomed in the mid-19th century, giving life to the development of the surrounding area. A dynamic mix of old and new, celebrates vibrant atmosphere which fuels the city defines Stripes.

Located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur on historical Jalan Kamunting, Hotel Stripes Kuala Lumpur connects guests to the pulse of an urban neighbourhood, right by the hustle and bustle of KL city, with some of the signature local food, remarkable art galleries and legendary landmarks. It offers a total of 184 bespoke guest rooms and suites, along with stylish spaces for social events, dining opportunity at Brasserie 25 and impressive Man Tao Rooftop Bar for sips & chill.

Spot the five footways and pedestrian walkways built with bricks and tiles when you are here. These are unique to the region. Previously, most of the shophouses here were constructed of wood and thatch but they had been destroyed by a disastrous fire and flood at the end of the 19th century. The British colonial administration, therefore, stipulated that the buildings were to be replaced with, far less flammable, bricks and tiles to prevent reoccurrence such unfortunate incident.

Hotel Stripes KL STUDIO Room 2D1N Staycation

Check-in to Hotel Stripes KL STUDIO room for a short staycation over the weekend. So beautiful and spacious! Our favourite warm neutral tones, with an artful balance of form and function.

What makes the room stands out is the black and white framed photo adorning the wall, showcasing 1940s-50s of Jalan Kamunting. A creative way to reflect the heritage of the neighbourhood, yet blending well to the contemporary design.

Every item is delicious especially the juicy, tender beef brisket but portion was so generous that we couldn’t finish everything. They have freshly made waffles with an assortment of toppings & ice cream for sweet ending at the dessert counter too. Oh how thoughtful. Had 3 pieces of waffles despite feeling full because it tastes so good!
