“When two worlds collide” – matcha and coffee specialist at Story of ONO SS2 is ready to welcome you. After months of brainstorming on the cafe concept, design, logo, menu and other details, ONO has finally opened its door to the public, few weeks right before 2021 ends.

Minimalism, Scandinavian-style interior is something that ONO would like to bring out in this neighbourhood cafe, offering a relax, laid-back ambience along with a menu offering matcha beverage from Nino Neko Matcha, coffee from Curate Coffee Roaster and Japanese-inspired sando to pair with.

Enjoy a cup of ” The Champion’s Reserve” is a must – specially selected by Shaunie, who is also Malaysia’s Brewer’s Cup Champion 2017 & 2019. Espresso based coffee using Ethiopia Yirgacheff Dumerso G1 beans, is available too.

Ordered ” When Two Worlds Collide” (RM18) from ONO Special Drinks – Coffee x Matcha Signature menu. A concoction of Niko Neko REN/ Ceremonial Matcha cream with carbonated Ethiopia Yirgacheff Dumerso G1 cold brew. It is suggested to Drink-from-the-glass. Enjoy the creaminess followed by the refreshing taste of cold brew, then combi of both.

Food option focuses on sando – savory and sweet. Dashiki Tamago Sando RM18 – Fluffy dashi stock tamagoyaki, homemade light wasabi mayo, Japanese Shokupan bread; Crispy Ebi Katsu Taru Taru Sando RM28 – Crispy shrimp katsu cutlet, homemade Japanese taru taru sauce, Japanese Shokupan bread, lemon slice; Smoked Salmon Mascarpone Sando RM26 – Homemade diced smoked salmon, lemon mascarpone cheese, butterhead lettuce, diced onion, Treviso, basil, Japanese shokupan bread..

..and we had Tangy Buffalo Chicken RM24 – a thick, juicy layer of chicken cutlet jacketd with crispy, golden brown deep fried outer layer, sandwich is fluffy Japanese Shokupan bread with tangy & spicy sauce, rich blue cheese sauce and fresh cabbage. Real delicious good stuff. But if you aren’t a blue cheese lovers like Summergirl, you might want to consider before ordering.

For sweet sando, feels like in Japan with Strawberry Sando that put together fresh strawberries, homemade cream, Japanese Shokupan bread. Houjicha Ogura Sando – Smokey Niko Neko TSUBAKI/Houjicha cream, Japanese red bean paste, homemade orange confit bits, Japanese Shokupan bread.
