ACES Hotel Kuala Lumpur, a new, affordable hotel near to Chinatown KL, with easy access to public transports and various attractions in the city.

The hotel carries a total of 68 rooms, all air-conditioned and comes with free Wifi connection. There are 4 types of rooms available, namely Superior Room, Premier Room, Family Room and ACES Suite. Stay for a night at Premier Room. We personally find it as the most suitable room for those travelling in two, or as couple. It is slightly bigger than the Superior Room category, with an option of double bed or two single beds.

If you are travelling with friends or family in a group of 4 to 5 persons, you may want to choose their Family Room or ACES Suite. Family room that spans a spacious 31msqrL, is suitable for family of 4 persons with 2 queen size beds.

Water dispenser is readily available at the common area. You can bring your own bottle (*or the glass bottles in your room) to refill H2O whenever needed. Also, self-service laundry. There’s one washing machine and one dryer. No token purchase is required. You just have to buy your own detergent and you are good to go, get clothes clean and dry.

Another thing that makes ACES Hotel worthwhile, they have these traditional games – Congkak, Batu Seremban, Jenga Wooden Blocks, Sahibba, Compedium of 15 Games, Draughts and Happy Family! Oh how we miss our childhood favourite Happy Family and Batu Seremban. It has been a while since we last play these. All you need to do is approach the Front Desk and select your preferred game. Remember to handle with care, packed and return it nicely after your fun game session. So that the next guests can enjoy the games!

By the end of the 2-hour tour, the bus dropped us off at their interchange station, in front of Sungei Want Plaza. From there, we took the MRT (Station Bukit Bintang) and went back to hotel. ACES Hotel is actually less than 10 minutes walk from Pasar Seni MRT Station. In other words, if you are planning on a whole day shopping spree, you can actually walk to Pasar Seni MRT Station, took the train and stop at Bukit Bintang Station. Only 2 stations away. Apart from the public transportation convenience, ACES Kuala Lumpur also allows you to explore the heritage of Kuala Lumpur. Petaling Street, or more known as Chee Cheong Kai, is just across the road. You can spend a half day here, trying out famous street food such as Kim Lian Kee Hokkien Mee, popiah, mua chee, chee cheong fan, wantan mee, yong tau fu curry mee, fresh fish slices porridge, soya milk, longan herbal tea and more. Walked down further to reach Kwai Chai Hong, one of the most-talked about tourist attractions in this area. Take a stroll down the memory lane, on a journey back in time to the 1960s golden era of KL Chinatown.

Kwai-Chai-Hong

It is a rather happening destination with non-stop seasonal art installations, interactive murals, and instagramable spots. Restored shophouses are now wonderful eateries that you can come by during the day for all-time-favourite Buun Choon Egg Tart at Buun Choon, Nyonya delights at Pandan Republic, Egg Waffles at Bubble Bee Cafe; for lunch and dinner at DayOne DayOne Noodles, Concubine KL, DaBao, GuiGui Korean BBQ House, Asian Street Food Club. Continue to immerse in the evening ambience of Kwai Chai Hong with drinks chilling at Bai Jiu, Concubine, G-String, Small Shifting Space at night.

In short, if you are travelling to Kuala Lumpur and looking for a budget stay in the city, ACES Hotel gets the plus points in terms of price and location. It might not be a luxury hotel with plenty of amenities, but we like it being simple, clean, affordable. You get a comfortable stay without having to pay for the hefty price.
