As the Holy Month approaches, the chefs at InterContinental Kuala Lumpur will take you on a trip down memory lane. A nostalgic spread awaits with Warisan Kita buffet dinner at Serena Brasserie, from 3 April – 1 May 2022. Indulge in recipes inherited by talented chefs, passed down from generation to generation to make this time of year an unforgettable one. You’ll be sure to find a favourite amongst these edible memories.

Located at the forefront of Serena, get started with a symphony of seafood delights from all corners of the world, featuring “Seafood on Ice” – US Oysters, Blue Swimmer Crab, New Zealand Green Lips Mussels, Vanamei Prawns and Slipper Lobsters. Continue with Gado-gao Abang Beca that put together cucur udang, cucur manis, sengkuang, timun, tahu, kacang panjang, taugeh keropok melinjau, dressed in kuah kacang – all for that myriad of textures and flavours. Warm the tummy with Soup Tulang Rawan, paired with Roti “bhai”, Bubur Lambuk Isi Lautan and flavourful bowl of Mee Udang from Warung Mee Pak Sapri.

“Kambing Golek 7ujuh Keturunan” – the must-try signature dish. The marinade is a trade secret by Chef Nadzira. This same marinade has been shared over 7 generations, hence the name. The lamb is served with a choice of Percik Sauce or Rosemary Sauce with a variety of roasted vegetables & potatoes.

For hot dishes, enjoy from Mee Goreng Mamak to Udang Berlada, Gulai Kawah Bonda, Patin Tempoyak, Temerloh, Pucuk Ubi Lemak Kunning, Nasi Dage Rayo with Gule Ikan Tongkol and Ayam Pasu, Jelatah, Telor Rebus, Nasi Biryani, Keri Kepak Ikan Barramundi, Rendang Ayam Tok Nek, Sotong Sumbat, Ikan Bakar Pari, Ikan Bakar Kembong, etcc.

One of our top favourite in InterContinental buffet spread this round is “Pasta Goreng Kawah Cucu Bonda” – Malaysian fusion take of Mee Goreng, using Spaghetti or Fettuccine Noodles instead of yellow noodles, stir fried with chicken slices, fish cake and a secret home-made mee goreng paste prepared at “Warung Mee Pak Sapri”. A fond childhood dish prepared by Chef Sapri’s mother. A dish invented in the spur of the moment as she went through the available ingredients at home.

“Nasi Kukus Balqish” features Kari Kepak Barramundi and Rendang Ayam Tok Nek, highlighting Rendang Ayam which uses a recipe taught to Chef Balqish by her Grandmother – a recipe which has been passed down through 3 generations . Chef Balqish’s Nasi Kukus is best accompanied with Gulai Kawah Bonda, Patin Tempoyak Temerloh and Pucuk Ubi Lemak Kuning, available at the “Hidangan Utama” section. “

Ikan Bakar Haji Aiman” is fresh off the boat, grilled catch of the day, served at the Al Fresco section of Serena Brasserie. Fresh Stingray, Mackerel and Stuffed Squid prepared to perfection.

A Malaysian Ramadan Bazaar staple brought into the glamour of InterContinental, “Daveed & Fikri’s Mini Roti John” brings their take on the humble sandwich. Their Mini Roti John is a recipe inspired by Chef Fikri’s brother. Chef Fikri sold Roti John with his brother at the local Ramadan Bazaar before joining Serena Brasserie.

Last but not least, save room for dessert as “Ah Chan’s Apam Balek Lembut dan Gebu” proves to be truly gebu. Fluffy and soft, it ensures a sweet end to a gastronomically captivating night. Chef Chan’s Apam Balek is traditionally prepared with Kaya, Sugar, Sweet Corn & Ground Peanuts or have it with home-made berry compote. His Apam Balek is best accompanied with a special selection of assorted NZ Kapiti’s Ice Cream.

InterContinental Kuala Lumpur signature restaurants, Tao Chinese Cuisine & Tatsu Japanese Cuisine joins the fold with guest appearances. Executive Chef of Tao, Chef Kong, brings his delightful Sweet & Sour Crab and Butter Prawns, will be available at the “Hidangan Utama” buffet spread. Tatsu rolls in with their famed Sushi Rolls with Assorted Maki & Nigiri Sushi available “From Tatsu’s Sushi Bar”.
