Airplane Mode Coffee SS4 PJ: Awesome Coffee & Matcha

Airplane Mode Coffee Taman Rasa Sayang, a new Japanese-style cafe located in the same area with Guan’s KL, Dou Dou Bake, Noon Viennoiserie, 2econd Floor, and Chiru.

Apparently our favourite cafe in SS4. Laid-back, relax ambience, less chaos comparing to the few cafes along the road where you need to queue under the hot sun just to get a seat. Airplane Mode Coffee is like a hidden gem, on the first floor, with good food and amazing coffee.

We don’t mind spending a whole morning or afternoon here, enjoying their carefully crafted coffee and matcha, along with delicious, comforting Japanese delicacies, some with local influences, such as apom French Toast.

Airplane Mode menu isn’t extensive, but each item can easily become their signature, be it Charcoal Grilled Pork Belly Rice Bowl, Miso Butter Mushroom Rice Bowl, Salmon Shioyaki Rice Bowl or Scallion Oil Noodle.

We had Charcoal Grilled Pork Belly Rice Bowl, one of the best sellers in Airplane Mode. Beautifully grilled with crispy charred edges pork belly, thickly cut and load over a bed of Japanese rice, complete with soft boiled egg. Like that it is very aromatic, but the meat we had is slightly on the lean side.

For drinks, we didn’t put much expectation initially but to our surprise, first sip of their Ajisai Matcha – we got so wow. Same goes to the hot latte. Nicely froth, smooth and creamy. Highly recommended.

Other drinks include Akane Hojicha, Chemor 70% Chocolate, filtered coffee, Hojo tea, etc.. Our friends told us that their dessert is nice too, but we are too full to try it out. So ya, get a slice of their Oolong Tea wihth Osmanthus Jelly Swiss Roll, Black Sesame with Mochi Swiss Roll or Pandan Kaya Swiss Roll if you would like to have some sweet.

We like the atmosphere, interior, and food in Airplane Mode. Looking forward to return, for matcha, coffee, and sweet treat! Front staff and kitchen team are very friendly too.
