It has been a while since we last visited a cafe that we really like, be it from the design, ambience, food, or overall concept. Glad to come across one recently, near to where we stay (plus point!), named OGA Tea & Dining.
Located along Jalan Kamuning, expect OGA Tea & Dining to soon becoming the next worthwhile dining choice in Imbi area, along with many other eateries such as the famous IKI Omakase, Flour Fine Dining, Kobu Omakase, Boi Boi, Blackbixon, MONROE, Emily’s Steakhouse KL, Levain Boulangerie & Patisserie, Fukuya Japanese Restaurant, etc. – where, each shines with its own uniqueness.
Love the aesthetic appeal of the cafe that creates a calming atmosphere with creative use of curvy elements and neutral tone, layering more textures with matching tiles, wooden chairs, chrome finishing, upholstered seat, etc.. So much details, right from the entrance all the way to the tea bar, dining space that caters for different groups, workspace-like corner; even the washroom is nicely designed.
To be honest, we didn’t pay much attention to this place until Summerkid said that he wanted to have matcha tiramisu the other day, and he suggested OGA Tea & Dining. Ended up we couldn’t stop admiring the design at OGA Tea & Dining throughout our short 2 hours there. Also wondering who’s their interior designer. Almost wanted to ask the staff but ya, we didn’t, out of respect. LOL.
For food, OGA Tea & Dining focuses on Japanese inspired delicacies, putting together maki, noodles, tempura, don, zousui, onigiri, sando that all looks promising. We ordered Mentaiko Spaghetti – capellini with pollock roe sauce, topped with flying fish roe and tiger prawns. Flavours are on the light side, easy to finish.
Yaki Udon, Tempura Inaniwa Udon, Zaru Soba, OX Tail Udon, Ebi Fried Curry Don Set, Tendon Set, Australian Beef Don, Curry Chicken Katsu, Egg Ebi Fried Sando, Salmon Sousui, Gindara Zousui, Grilled Hotate Mentai, Shirauo Tempura – Gonna plan few more trips here.
For dessert, you can sample from Getsusui Matcha Cheese Cake, Rin Houjicha Cheese Cake, Koko Cheese Cake, Genmaicha Tiramisu, Getsusui Matcha Tiramisu, Classic Tiramisu, Kaori Houjicha Tart, Getsusui Matcha Tart, Earl Grey Tart, Wakocha Tart, Strawberry Cheese Tart.
This is Summerkid’s favourite Getsusui Matcha Tiramisu. Melt-in-mouth goodness, slightly sweet for us though.
Coffee, latte, Kaori Houjicha Latte, Getsusui Matcha, Mizuiki Matcha, Midori Matcha, Yuzu Honey, Milk Tea, Kuki Houjicha Cold Brew, SanSan Sencha Cold Brew are some of the available beverage. Tea at OGA is carefully chosen collection of premium tea leaves, sourced from renowned Japanese gardens with centuries of tea cultivation expertise. So if you are tea lover, add OGA to your must-visit cafe in KL and discover their seasonal sencha.
Overall, a nice brunch experience. Parking can be difficult, as usual for Imbi. If you are early and lucky, you can park at the parking space in front of the cafe. It can fill up pretty quick though, as the space can accomodate like 4 -5 cars at a time.
