Four Points by Sheraton Chinatown – Legacy in Broom This Mid-Autumn

August 24, 2025 by summerkid_summergirl

In celebration the cultural continuity of Mid-Autumn celebrations, Four Points by Sheraton Kuala Lumpur, Chinatown, officially launched its Legacy in Bloom mooncake collection with Lady Yi’s Tea House.

Themed Legacy in Bloom: A timeless celebration of grace and heritage, the event served as a sensory and cultural prelude to the Mid-Autumn Festival, bringing together media and esteemed guests for cultural appreciation through tea and mooncake pairings and immersive activities.

It was a splendid Mid-Autumn celebration at Lady Yi’s Tea House, where the delicate aroma of tea blended with festive charm, exuding timeless elegance and welcoming ambience. While sharing the brand’s mission and dedication to redefine the Mid-Autumn festival tradition, Mr Liew Wai Kent, Director of Sales and Marketing, Four Points by Sheraton Kuala Lumpur, Chinatown narrated, “Innovation isn’t about being different. Instead, it’s about making traditions memorable in a way that resonates with today’s world.” “Our signature 11 Treasures Mooncake and the new Black Tea Mochi Mooncake signify our appreciation towards culture with a touch of contemporary flair,” he added.

The Legacy in Bloom mooncake collection shines the light on the heritage symbolism of the phoenix and peony in Chinese culture — icons of elegance, beauty, virtue and rebirth.

The phoenix symbolizes auspiciousness and rebirth, while the peony represents wealth and prosperity, harmoniously depicting our appreciation towards the timelessness of Chinese heritage. The velvet emerald gift box, adorned with these symbolic motifs in gold, draws inspiration from the splendor of an artwork by local artist Alice Chang displayed at Lady Yi’s Tea House — where heritage artistry and culinary mastery converge to honor tradition through refined flavors.

The mooncake collection features two new exciting mooncake flavors – Black Tea Mochi Mooncake masterfully blends Japanese-style Momoyama skin, smooth mung bean paste, and chewy mocha, while the Assorted Fruits & Nuts Mooncake presents a refreshed take on a classic favorite with a mix of macadamia nuts, walnuts, sunflower seeds, and almonds, paired with dried fruits to deliver a crunchy, multi-textured experience.

Five (5) unique flavors with traditional bits and innovative twists cater for the taste buds across all generations.

11 Treasures Mooncake (Signature Flavor)
Brings together 11 botanicals in perfect harmony. Bold Ceylon black tea and green rooibos form a strong, spirited base, while raspberry, plum, rosehip, and peach add a sweet, floral lift. Notes of bergamot, lemongrass, and ginger awaken the senses, and a gentle finish of chamomile and lavender soothes the soul.

White Lotus with Single Yolk Mooncake
A timeless classic with sweetness altered to suit every palate – its silky lotus seed paste surrounds a golden salted egg yolk, symbolizing unity and prosperity in every bite.

Red Bean Mooncake
The gentle sweetness and velvety texture make this another beloved classic for all ages. Meanwhile, the calming, floral aroma of rose extract adds delicate elegance to every bite.

Assorted Fruits & Nuts Mooncake (New Flavor)
This new addition is a wholesome and addictive medley of crunchy macadamia, walnut, sunflower seeds and almonds, harmonized with the natural sweetness of dried fruits like figs, orange peel, and candied winter melon.

Black Tea Mochi Mooncake (New Flavor)
A new twist on tradition – soft Momoyama skin with smooth black tea filling, green bean paste and a chewy mochi center. Lightly sweet with a gentle black tea aroma, it’s simple and satisfying.

A Cultural Tapestry: Unveiling the Legacy in Bloom
The luminous ceremony kicked off with a sense of ritual, from the captivating rendition by the renowned singer Angela Ong (吴沁尹), the mesmerizing tea art performance by Master Kok Pui Leng (郭蓓霖). Guests were also delighted with a traditional DIY lacquer fan activity, and the highlight of the day: the Augmented Reality Lights Hunt. Participating attendees immersed themselves in solving the Mid-Autumn riddles by scanning the designated objects to bring virtual phoenixes to life. Paired with specially selected teas, the exclusive mooncake tasting session was a truly delightful culinary journey.
