Ramadan is a season defined by reflection, generosity and shared moments, where the daily act of breaking fast becomes an important ritual of connection. At EQ, Ramadan dining has always been about more than abundance at the table, with an emphasis on balance between tradition and variety, familiarity and discovery, and intimate family gatherings alongside social reunions.

For Ramadan 2026, EQ presents two thoughtfully curated dining experiences that reflect this philosophy. Guests may choose between the familiar comfort of a heritage-inspired buffet at Citarasa Nipah, hosted at Nipah Restaurant, or EQ Bazaar at Level 3, featuring a hawker-stall concept with the addition of The Garden as a new venue element.
Citarasa Nipah
Returning as one of EQ’s signature Ramadan offerings, Citarasa Nipah presents an expansive dinner buffet inspired by Malaysia’s rich culinary heritage, drawing from regional traditions and time-honoured recipes.

Guests can begin in homespun style with a generous selection of appetisers, including assorted local greens (ulam-ulaman), traditional Malay salads (kerabu), house-crafted sambals, pickled vegetables, crackers, and dried fish. Hot selections highlight Malay specialities alongside Ramadan favourites such as savoury rice porridge (bubur lambuk) and smoked meats and seafood prepared in classic salai styles, including Daging Salai Masak Lemak and Udang Galah Masak Lemak. Among the evening’s centrepieces are grilled beef tomahawk (daging bakar tomahawk), whole roasted lamb infused with local spices (kambing golek), and traditional Johor-style spiced rice (briyani gam Johor). These are complemented by seafood-on-ice selections, live offerings, and interactive live cooking stations.
Desserts remain an essential part of the experience, featuring an array of traditional Malay kuih, warm sweet porridges such as Bubur Pengat Pisang and Bubur Jagung, and refreshing shaved-ice treats including cendol and ice kacang. The selection is rounded off with indulgent durian-based creations, including durian in coconut milk served with glutinous rice and pandan bread (serawa durian with pulut and roti pandan).

EQ Bazaar
For guests seeking a more dynamic way to break fast, EQ Bazaar returns in 2026 at Level 3 with a hawker-stall concept inspired by the vibrant culture of local Ramadan bazaars. The introduction of The Garden as an additional venue component adds a fresh dimension to the experience, distinguishing it from previous editions.

The bazaar features twelve live food stations and two live beverage counters offering ten varieties of chilled beverages (air balang). It showcases Malaysian street-food favourites alongside selected international influences. Highlights include shawarma carved to order; assorted rice dishes such as Nasi Minyak and Nasi Daging; grilled skewers from Arabic, Malay, and Western cuisines, including shish tawook, shish kebab, Ikan Pari Bakar, and lamb shoulder. Popular noodle dishes like laksa are also available, along with familiar favourites such as roti John, freshly prepared spring rolls (popiah basah), and turnover pancakes (apam balik).
The atmosphere is complemented by live local band performances, creating a festive yet welcoming environment. Designed for families and groups who appreciate variety within a relaxed setting, EQ Bazaar offers a contemporary interpretation of the traditional Ramadan bazaar experience.

Together, these Ramadan offerings reflect EQ’s continued focus on thoughtful hospitality, where food serves as a bridge for connection. Guests are invited to reconnect and savour the spirit of the season. General Manager Justin Lee, who marks his first Ramadan at EQ’s helm, is looking forward to the meaningful connections fostered during the hotel’s break-of-fast gatherings. “In today’s fast paced life, Ramadan gives people a chance to slow down and reconnect. It becomes even more meaningful when bonds are reaffirmed over delicious food that carries a flavour of home,” said Lee.
