Kyung Joo Korean Restaurant can easily goes into Korean cuisine lovers’ food pocket list when looking for Korean food in Mid Valley, seeing that it is one of the very few Korean restaurants within Mid Valley – The Gardens KL that offers full-fledge Korean delights on their menu, covering from BBQ to seafood pot, budae jjigae, ala-carte selections such as bibimbap, sam gye tang, tofu jigae, grilled fish, cold noodles, mandu, Korean pancake and more.

Kyung Joo Korean Restaurant Mid Valley KL chicken bibimbap

Chicken Bibimbap RM19.80

We checked out this place on a weekday dinner. Not fully occupied, but with sufficient customers to keep the kitchen busy. Began with Chicken Bibimbap, Summergirl’s favourite dish that put together sauteed and seasoned vegetables, egg, chicken slices an gojuchang over a bed of rice. Toss everything well and tuck in heartily.

Kyung Joo Korean sam gye tang

Sam Gye Tang RM34.80 (whole), RM18.80 (half)

Sam Gye Tang, or Korean Ginseng Chicken Soup easily earned liking for most diners, thanks to its warmth, nourishing flavour, helmed with bitter note of ginseng. Soft and plump glutinous rice, fall off the bone chicken meat, tummy warming soup – traditional comfort food all in one bowl, that scores.

Kyung Joo Korean budae jijiae

Budae Jjiae RM48.80

We usually call this as Army Stew (部隊鍋). A large, round shallow pan, boiling various cooked ingredients like chicken ham, sausage, instant noodles in a bed of Korean special sauce that appears red hot but actually just mildly spicy, carrying pleasing sweetness to balance up the overall flavours.

Kyung Joo Korean toasted rice ball

Toasted Rice Ball RM29.80 per pot

Yeah! Toasted Rice Ball! Has been liking these Korean rice balls for quite some time. Grilled for a crispy outer layer, wrapping moist steamed rice mixed with seaweed, sesame, minced chicken and gojuchang within. Even children love this. Proved from one of the little girls in Kyung Joo, asking for second after she took one from us.

Kyung Joo Korean scallop barbeque

Japanese Scallop Barbecue RM32.80

Kyung Joo Korean Restaurant Mid Valley KL

Grilled Japanese scallop in Korean BBQ restaurant sounds interesting, as it is not as common compared to chicken, beef and pork when come to meat selections for Korean barbecue. Fresh scallops, rubbed with butter, grilled and garnished with deep fried chopped garlic before served.

Kyung Joo Korean mojito

Wash down with Kyung Joo famous drink, Passion Mojito RM14.80 and lime Mojito RM14.80. Enjoy the later more, but would be better with more alcohol in it.
