Paradise Inn Individual Set Meal @ Sunway Pyramid

Paradise Inn, a restaurant in Sunway Pyramid that we passed by many times but never dare to try out as it seemed so expensive, judging from its luxury exterior, grand interior.

IMG_3983eWell we shouldn’t judge the book by its cover. So recently we brave ourself for a meal there, and we were surprised to find that all dishes are reasonably priced, especially the individual set meals introduced last month, definitely worth every penny you pay for.

Crispy Fermenter Pork Ribs 香酥南乳海山谷 (RM23.90)

There are four categories of main courses to choose from – chargrilled, hot stone bowl, hot steaming basket and mini wok. Wide varieties of choices spread in the menu, from beef, pork, chicken to noodles. Each set comes with a selection of main course, a platter of fresh vegetables, 3 side dishes of the day, Jasmine steamed rice, double boiled soup, and home made special sauce. More than enough to fit a hungry stomach.

Side dishes of the day: Sliced Lotus Root + Egg + Deep Fried Minced Bean curd, or Deep Fried Fermented Bean Curd Chicken + Sliced Lotus Root+ Deep Fried Minced Bean Curd. We find the Sliced Lotus Root unique, a must to give praises to the chefs for delicately preparing this, even it is just a side dish. Starchy itself, the lotus root is stuffed with lotus paste, chewy with glutinous rice like texture.

Not to forget the traditional double boiled soup of the day which is attached along, nourishing and tummy warming.

Stir Fried Beef Slices with Spring Onion & Black Pepper 石鍋京蔥炒牛肉 (RM23.90)
The boy’s order. A satisfying stir fry that whip out natural sweetness and tenderness of beef slices, coupled with lovely colour and crunch of spring onion. Highly recommeded.

Seafood with Spicy Homemade Sauce 香辣海鮮 (RM23.90)
Diners who prefer seafood over meat will be happy to find seafood choices in the set menu. Seafood with Spicy Homemade Sauce gathers choices of fresh and umami flavours of prawns, squids and fish in a bed of sauce packed with spicy and sour concoction which is very much like spicy assam sauce.

Supreme Seafood Fried Rice 海鮮黃炒飯 (RM20.90)
Golden fluffy fried rice with seafood, interestingly added with fish roes that gives a playful popping texture.
IMG_3918e
Steamed Pork Ribs with Black Beans 蒜香豆鼓蒸排骨 (RM19.90)
Very homemade flavour that reminds us of mum’s cooking, goes well with rice.
IMG_3933eSliced Pork Collar with Lemongrass and Honey 蜜汁碳燒豬頸肉 (RM23.90)
Precious portion of thinly sliced pork collar, delicately barbequed to present a smoky, tender and robust  flavours. Thumbs up.

Chicken Drumlets with Spiced Marination 鹽酥棒棒雞 (RM20.90)
We like this! Certainly the must have in Paradise Inn. Deep fried to perfect crispiness with a touch of saltiness and juiciness remained, you will find this very addictive and will be loved by diners from all age.

Stir Fried Udon with Black Pepper Sauce & Seafood 鍋仔黑椒海鮮烏冬面 (RM22.90)
Not fancy on rice? You got a choice of noodles too. Other than Stir Fried Udon, one can have Traditional Fried Hor Fun with Egg or Stir Fried Hokkien Style Thick Noodle.

Black Sesame 紅豆沙湯圓
Thick red bean soup with glutinous rice balls, recommended for toning down the greasiness from mains.
IMG_4016e
Warm Sweet Almond Paste 杏仁糊
One of our friends ordered the so called cockcroach smell soup, and she like it, saying that it has a mild, thick soya bean flavour.
IMG_4017e
Chilled Lemongrass Jelly with Lemonade
Refreshing with a twist of tangy flavour from lemonade, pleasant chew from aiyu jelly, ideal dessert for cooling down the body heat.
IMG_4015e
Mango Sago 楊枝甘露 (RM8.00)
Velvety smooth and thick consistency mango sweet soup with bites of pomelo and cubed mango. Perfect cold dessert to end the meal.
So, the next time you are in Sunway Pyramid, look no further to indulge in a healthy, sumptuous, and value set meal in Paradise Inn.
