The Porki Society @ Seapark PJ: More Pork in Your Thai Food

May 15, 2017 by summerkid_summergirl

Thai food for dinner again. This time checking out The Porki Society in Seapark, Petaling Jaya. It is located near to Tickish Ribs & ‘Wiches and Burgerlab. Not a new restaurant but we are pretty addicted to Thai cuisine recently, so ended up trying different Thai restaurants in KL & PJ almost every week. Classic, street food or fusion style, all in. LOL.

The Porki Society

The Porki Society

Porki Society Seapark is famous for their boat noodles, a traditional Thai staple that caused crazy queue in some restaurants few years back. The craze may be faded by now, but the love for it doesn’t. We still have it once in a while. Porki Society offers two types of boat noodles – in soup or dry version. Opt for mee hoon, or flat noodles.

The Porki Society

Thai Noodle (Soup/Dry)

Diners can make it into value combo  – 4 bowls of Thai noodle/meehoon + 1 BBQ Thai Pork Ball + 1 Porki Skewer + 1 Signature Milktea at only RM15.90. Make it more complete with dessert at RM19.90, putting together  4 bowls of Thai noodle/meehoon + 1 BBQ Thai Sausage + 1 Porki Skewer + 1 Signature Milktea + 1 Sago pudding.

The Porki Society

Porki Society’s Thai noodles’ soup is lighter in taste, suitable for those who prefer mild flavours. Dashes of chilli flakes, fish sauce or spicy condiments fix the shortage if you liked stronger taste. We enjoyed the dry version, akin to our “gon lou meen”. Topped with pork meatballs, nuts, cilantro.

Grilled Pork with Signature Sauce RM12.90

For other items on Porki Society menu, most of them don’t go far from pork, as the shop’s name suggests. Savour from Green Curry Pork Rice with Omelette, Grilled Pork with Signature Sauce, BBQ Fried Pork with Thai Chilli Sauce, Basil Leaf Eggplant with Minced Pork, Bacon Fried Rice for individual ala-carte orders…

Som Tum RM5.90

…to BBQ Thai Pork Ball, BBQ Thai Sausage, Pork Rinds, Thai Style Pork Slice, BBQ Pork Skewer, Fried Pork Belly, Grilled Bacon with Enoki Mushroom, BBQ Squid Stuffed with Minced Pork for snack selections… everything below RM20.

The Porki Society

Fried Abalone Mushroom RM5.90

The Porki Society

BBQ Porki RM8.90

The Porki Society

Thai Style Pork Slices RM8.90

We recommended Thai Style Pork Slices – A bowlful of boiled pork slices topped with plenty of chilli and garlic, drizzles of lime juices. Spicy and sourish concoction, flavouring up the surprisingly tender and not tough-and-dry meat.

The Porki Society

Porki Platter RM43.90

Porki Platter, probably the dish in largest serving you can find in Porki Society. Ideal to shared among 3-4pax. 5 types of grilled meat – Porki Signature BBQ Squis Stuffed with Minced Pork, BBQ Porki Skewer, BBQ Thai Sausage, BBQ Thai Pork Metball and BBQ Pork all in one platter. Good on its own, great with lettuce too. Wrap in meat and spicy sweet sauce, have it like your Korean BBQ way. Our pick? BBQ Thai Sausage.

Piggy Bomb RM9.90

Though named with “Bomb”, this Piggy Bomb doesn’t a bursting sensation like Go Noodle House Bursting Meatballs, but creatively stuffed with quail egg. Interesting, better if the outer layer can be crispier.

IMG_5017

Porki Signature Fried Rice RM12.90

The plus point for this fried rice – laden with wok hei. Rice on the moist side, flavourful. Served with two prawns, crackers and egg. Price-worthy.

Tom Yum Seafood Soup RM12.90

IMG_5069

Water Chesnut & Coconut Custard RM4.90/3 pieces

IMG_5068

Coconut Ice Cream with Sticky Rice RM5.90

Red Ruby with Coconut Milk RM6.90

End the meal sweet with dessert like Water Chesnut & Coconut Custard, Sago Pudding, Coconut Ice Cream with Sticky Rice, Mango Sticky Rice and Red Ruby with Coconut Milk..

..or a unique collections of ice cream such as green bean durian ice cream, durian ice cream, yam ice cream, jackfruit ice cream, sweet corn ice cream, D2 soft dessert and popsicles that bring back the good old childhood memories.
