We began with Strawberry Rhubarb Tart, Basque Cake with Fresh Berries, Fresh Figs Cheesecake and Chocolate Tart..
..followed by Lemon Sable Breton with Yuzu Creme Brulee, Chooclate Cremeux, Raspberries; Blueberry Tart, Lemon Raspberry Tartlets, Orange Cake and Caramel Opera.
Linzertorte, one of the must-have in this afternoon tea buffet. We don’t come across this often in KL, hence giving us extra reason to try an extra serving. Crumbly, nutty and jam-filled torte, traditionally with criss-cross design topping but getting a twist of appearance in High On Sugar.
Coconut Cendol Pudding – a taste of Malaysian flavours!
Feeling Christmas-y with Panettone, Sticky Toffee Pudding, Christmas Stollen and also Gingerbread!

Yeap, Grand Hyatt High On Sugar Afternoon Tea is thoughtful enough to come with a savoury menu, where you can order your favourite items in between your sweet indulgence.
From Caprese Salad to Shepherd’s Pie, Black Angus Beef Meatballs, Steamed Sea Bass, Seafood Dumplings, Potato Puff, Spring Rolls, Assorted Dim Sum, Wok-Fried Carrot Cake – this a la minute menu has a good mix of Western and Asian option to fit your taste buds.
Personally, we recommend Steamed Sea Bass, Deep Fried Spring Roll and Black Angus Beef Meatballs. The Steamed Sea bass is especially outstanding – moist fish fillet complemented by softness of tofu, further dressed with a flavourful, aromatic sauce.
After savouries, goes back to the sweet, and repeat!
We then had Mango Pandan Panna Cotta, Truffle Raspberry, Chocolate Mousse, Vanilla Shortbread with Mango Jam, Pistachio Eclair, Chocolate Hazelnut Cake and Mille-Feuilles with Vanilla & Raspberries!
Marshmallow Lollipops, milk chocolate praline, Dark Chocolate Praline, White Chocolate Praline
Noodle counter right next to the dessert spread. Guests can have a choice of Spicy Dry Noodle, Minced Chicken Dry Noodle or Seaweed Fish Ball Noodles Soup. Lots of condiments like siew mai, mushrooms, cabbage, fishballs, etc. Enjoy the “default” classic toppings prepared for you or customize your own if you wanted to.
