Sofitel Kuala Lumpur Damansara Hotel 2D1N Staycation Review!

It has been a while since we last had a hotel stay. Decided to take a short break and off for a 2D1N stay at Sofitel Kuala Lumpur Damansara- one of the latest 5-star hotels in KL, by Accor Hotels group.

Highlighting art de vivre and contemporary luxe refined with local touch, Sofitel Kuala Lumpur Damansara set to create an exceptional stay, dining and wellness experience that celebrates the joy and pleasures of life – to live like the French way.

Each room is lavishly designed, well-equipped with modern amenities needed to ensure a pleasant, comfortable stay. 5 types of room & suites, namely Luxury Room, Luxury Club Floor Room, Junior Suite, Prestige Suite, and Opera Suite.

Thanks Sofitel Damansara for the welcome desserts and fruits!

There’s Nespresso coffee machine and tea-making facilities too!

Marble bathroom with bathtub and…

Awww….  Hermès shampoo, shower gel, conditioner and lotion! Also, bath salt for us to soak our tiredness and exhaustion away after a long day out.

So Fit Gym Room

Love their very Instagram-worthy swimming pool.

Access to Club Millésime

Glad that our suite provided us with exclusive access to Club Millesime at level 22 – the hotel’s club lounge that offers various exclusive privileges reserved for guests staying in Junior Suite, Prestige Suite and Opera Suite of Sofitel Hotel Kuala Lumpur Damansara.

Had our private check-in and check out here. Back later in the evening and unwind with Apero Chic cocktail hours that features a selection of free-flow wine, beer and cocktails, along with canapes, cold cuts and cheeses to nibble on. Do check out Le Gouter, the French afternoon tea from 2.30PM to 4.30PM.

So SPA Sofitel

Spa pampering time! Have been hearing a lot about this award-winning spa in KL. So excited that we are finally giving it a try.

So SPA Sofitel Damansara Kuala Lumpur is famous for Hammams, or Turkish bath. Here, you can discover a menu of urban spa treatments, where worldwide ancient traditions meet the refinement and skill of French cosmetology to create an complete rejuvenation for mind, body and soul. Choose from body massage to facial, sauna steam, body polish and more.

What make’s So SPA more noteworthy is, it also has Malay, Chinese or Indian massage – infused with French expertise.

We tried the So Hammam Rituals, one of the So SPA signatures that highlights an exquisite experience of the Maghreb traditional treatments. Our session commenced with sauna steam therapy, followed by skin cleansing and purifying with Savon Noir Beldi olive-rich black soap.

Kassa Hammam Glove is used to gently exfoliates and removes dead skin cells, then continued with body mask and bubble bath. Skin feel so soft and smooth after that! Finally, a full body massage with tea elixir and Argan oil to complete the journey.

Captivating lounge with different kind of tea, nuts and dried fruits for spa guests.

Had a really great time here. Staffs are friendly and professional. Highly recommended.

Dinner at Nizza

Take a trip to French Riveria at Nizza Sofitel KL!

Taking prides in fine Mediterranean cuisine, Nizza menu offers a promising selections of time-honored classics, as well as delicacies fused with chef’s modern creativity. Each dish is beautifully plated with thoughtful combination on colours, flavours and textures to ensure pleasurable dining.

Started with Burrata – Soft, chewy cheese ball oozed with rich, milky goodness once cut through, pairing well with Heirloom tomatoes, slow roasted cherry tomatoes, virgin olive oil and green olive crumble;

and Gillardeau oysters – freshly-shucked, plump & sweet, air-flown from France.

For main course, we sampled Black Angus Beef – 250g medium rare grilled steak with red wine jus;

  Vivaneau Grenobloise – pan fried local red snapper served on with grapefruit, pomelo, lemon, gooseberries and caper berries;

Confit de canard – Slow cooked duck leg with potato gratin, green beans and pomegranate sauce.

Confit de canard is sooo good! Crispy, golden brown skin, tender meat, served with potato gratin, green beans and pomegranate sauce that clocks in just right to enhance the overall flavours with a creamy, tangy twist. Thanks to the friendly chef for this recommendation, else we would have missed out an awesome hidden signature in Nizza restaurant.

End our meal sweet with Fondant au Chocolat dessert – Warmth Valrhona Caramelia chocolate encapsulated within rich, chocolaty cake, sided with amaretto cream and pistachio ice cream.
