Dusun by OpenHouse Bangsar: Feels Like in Bali !

April 13, 2022 by summerkid_summergirl

Dusun by OpenHouse at Bangsar Shopping Centre (BSC) – probably one of the most beautiful, and most-talked about restaurants in Bangsar KL recently.

Being a hospitality by ACME company, Dusun Bangsar is set to create an exquisite dining experience, bringing together the spiritual and social buzz of the community in an endless encounter.

Looking at the interior, it is not hard to know why Dusun receives such a hype in social media. This place is so pretty. It makes us feel like we have walked into a restaurant in Bali or Chiang Mai. Modern contemporary style blended with rustic, wooden elements, along with ornaments that adds tones and textures to the entire ambience. Every corner is a photography spot.

But Dusun by OpenHouse has more to offer, beyond the thoughtfully designed interior. They take prides for a range of carefully selected local and hard-to-find jungle ingredients, aiming to bring the best from our Malaysian produce. What makes Dusun OpenHouse BSC more worthwhile is the Wood Smoked concept (ASAP). Traditional kampung cooking techniques are used, with mangrove wood fire – smoking and burning to create new notes on flavor composition.

Therefore, the word “Smoked” is highlighted on many dishes on Dusun menu, such as Smoked Bread Basket, Smoked Mushroom Soup, Smoked Chicken Rice, Smoked Seafood Dua Pasta. Other than that, they also have Prawn Serunding Melons, Smokey Rojak Paku, Taco Max, Charred Salted Sardines, Jicama Jungle Kerabu, Dusun Village Salad, Fire Chicken Chop, Neraka Tiger Prawn, Burnt Blue Yabbies, Leaf-Wrapped Panggang Seafood, Pulled Chicken Kerisik Sandwich for soft launch period. Everything on the menu looks promising by just looking at the name and description.

Too bad we were still full from our breakfast on our visit. So we settled down only with coffee and Torched Boko Pandan. Kasturi Lime Tart and Dusun Ice Cream/ Sorbet Selection in interesting flavours are available too. The restaurant also offers an unfussy list of fine wines, imaginative cocktails, and refreshing juices, with delightful desserts to complete the meal.

Come by and enjoy the vibes. Try to be there early, or expect to wait in queue. Dusun Bangsar currently accept only walk-in, as they are yet to open their reservations. Price is slightly above average but acceptable, considering the location, the environment and effort in creating the dishes with high quality ingredients. Hope return soon to review their main courses.
