2026 Staycay with Perfect View at Mercure Kuala Lumpur Trion

January 28, 2026 by summerkid_summergirl

Our first hotel stay of 2026 turned out to be a truly pleasant surprise. We honestly did not expect the view to be this breathtaking. Waking up to a million-dollar Kuala Lumpur skyline, even for just one night, felt incredibly precious – one of those moments that reminds you to slow down and appreciate where you are, even though it is just the beginning of the year.

Mercure Kuala Lumpur Trion feels like a hidden gem in the city. Low‑profile, understated, yet quietly impressive. A hotel that deserves far more attention than it gets. Fun fact: it is also the tallest Mercure hotel in Southeast Asia.

We have stayed at Mercure hotels in several other countries, and one thing we always appreciate is their “Discover Local” concept – a design philosophy that celebrates the culture, identity, and spirit of each destination.

At Mercure Kuala Lumpur Trion, this concept is beautifully translated into subtle yet meaningful local touches. The moment we stepped into the lobby, we were greeted by a signature mural featuring the traditional wau bulan. It instantly sets the tone and makes the perfect first Insta‑worthy photo spot.

The local influence continues with batik cushion covers in vibrant colours and patterns that add warmth and character. It is a Malaysian welcome that feels genuine and thoughtful, woven gently into the hotel’s modern design.

Mercure Kuala Lumpur Trion features 228 rooms and suites, starting from Level 38 onwards – Free from noise, also explains why the skyline views here are so spectacular.

Room with Spectacular KL City View

Room categories include Classic Superior Room, Privilege Room, Suite Room. We checked into a Privilege Room, measuring 28 square metres, equipped with one double bed, free Wi‑Fi, a 55‑inch flat‑screen TV, in‑room safe, capsule coffee machine, kettle, mini refrigerator, and hair dryer.

The filtered water faucet by 3M is a thoughtful touch, making it easy to refill drinking water anytime.

But the real highlight? The view. From Level 42, the KL skyline looked absolutely stunning, especially as the city lights slowly came alive in the evening. Considering the room price, this view is honestly a steal.

Swimming Pool & Gym at Level 54

Not satisfied yet? Head up to the swimming pool on Level 54 for an even wider, more panoramic view of the city. One of the best spots in the hotel to relax, unwind, and simply admire Kuala Lumpur from above. We could easily spend the whole day here.

We were also lucky that the pool was not heavily occupied during our stay, so we could take our own sweet time.  Of course, take more photos than usual.

The gym is equally impressive, offering a different perspective of the city while you work out.

Strategic Location & Shuttle Service

Although Mercure Kuala Lumpur Trion is not located right in the heart of the city centre, its location is surprisingly strategic. key destinations such as KLCC, TRX, Pavilion KL, Bukit Bintang City Centre are just few kilometres away.

The hotel also provides a FREE shuttle service to the nearest Chan Sow Lin LRT/ MRT station, Sunway Velocity, MyTown, and TRX. A thoughtful and very convenient gesture for in‑house guests to get some shopping; feel the vibes of world-class experiential lifestyle destination that sits at the heart of Tun Razak Exchange; or get on the MRT to explore some of the the KL’s best attractions.

Dinner at The Mirror

After a long day of errands, we decided to stay in and have dinner at The Mirror, the hotel’s all‑day dining restaurant.

The à la carte menu offers a good mix of local and international favourites, including Mee Mamak, Buttermilk Chicken with Rice, Nasi Daging Rendang, Gochujang Chicken Burger, Fish & Chips, Chicken Pizza, Yang Zhou Fried Rice with Seafood, Seafood Braised Rice, Spaghetti Smoked Duck Carbonara, Spaghetti Aglio Olio, Bread & Butter Pudding, etc..

We ordered Braised Yee Mee with Prawn, The Mirror’s Fried Rice, and Sup Ekor.

The Mirror Fried Rice was the standout, generous portion too. Kampung‑style fried rice served with crispy spiced fried chicken, fried egg, salad, crackers, and prawns.

If you prefer to dine outside, grab a quick coffee, or look for supper, the retail outlets downstairs offer plenty of choices, including: Second Date Cafe, BREW by Cobnb Cafe, Amazing House & Wine Bar, Yet Yet Send Restaurant, ZUS Coffee, 岳小川 Yue Xiao Chuan, Sungbukdang 10Won Bread, Estelle Bagel, Crave Castle Kitchen & Bar, Restaurant Ku Yum Tin, and more.

Rooftop Night View Experience

A secret tips for your after dinner activity –  You can also request a special rooftop night view session at the reception counter.

We were brought to the Level 56 rooftop to enjoy the city skyline at night. Do take note that the viewing time is limited from 8:00 PM to 9:00 PM only, so plan your timing accordingly.

Good night!

Rise & Shine

Start our day with a hearty breakfast at The Mirror. Nasi Lemak, sausages, fried potatoes, baked beans, salad, porridge, noodles, prata, croissants, cupcakes, fruits, coffee, and tea. Not extensive but a good balance of local and Western selections.

The live egg station is the busiest corner, so expect a short queue. Sunny side up, over‑easy, scrambled, soft‑boiled, or omelette – just take your pick.

Overall, our stay at Mercure Kuala Lumpur Trion was genuinely satisfying. From the skyline views and thoughtful local design touches, to the comfortable rooms, convenient location, it delivered far more than we expected. A quiet gem that truly deserves to be discovered.
