The restaurant has now received an exciting facelift, designed by Bond Design Studio Inc from Japan. Modern contemporary interior with wood colour in different shades, shiny floor tiles, wall lined with large framed glass pendant lights and yellow light orbs and pendant lights hung from ceilings – elegant enough to live up to the name of hotel brand, cozy enough to make everyone feel comfortable dining in.

Diners who prefer outdoor dining are encouraged to adjourn to the garden terrace and al-fresco section, an area that overlooking a koi fish pond with water fountain, offering scenic view that complements your buffet dinner better.

Let’s get the feast started! Lemon Garden Restaurants lines up a plethora of cuisine, ranging from Chinese, Italian, Indian, Thai, Malay, Japanese and Western specialities. So much food, all looks good, we can’t decide where to begin with.

Do try a piece or two of their pizza even though they might take up a bit of your stomach space, because it is made the authentic way using wood burning oven. Thin base, crispy edges with pleasing burnt aroma, flavoured up with generous toppings of cheese, seafood, smoked salmon or beef bolognese. Interative Pasta Hotspot is available too, allowing patrons to choose their own pasta, sauce, and have it prepared ala-minute.

Raw oysters, scallops, crabs, mussels, prawns; accompanied by Japanese sashimi and arrays of sushi. It is hard to say no to repertoire of fresh delicacies. Our favourite were oysters. Big, fat, juicy and fresh.

Indian section is the counter we rarely pay visit to in a buffet but not when in Shangri-La Hotel. Their kitchen churns out great Indian delicacies, packed with flavours of herbs and spices. Lamb Cubs and Pepper Flakes Baked, Fenugreek Flavour Chicken Morsels Cooked in Oven Perfection, Harvali, Fish Tikka are noteworthy. Not to forget, chicken satay, beef satay, Whole Baked Malay Red Snapper with Curry from the Malay sections are equally delicious too.

Chinese station in Lemon Garden Shangri-La buffet surprised us the most – unique variety of double boiled soups and unexpectedly lovely Ma Lat Seafood Soup with really fresh and bouncy prawns.

Not to forget their dim sum corner as well!

Don’t think we should say “save some room for dessert” because the savoury selections are already so hard to resist. So we will say no matter how full you are, open up a second stomach for dessert hahaha. Look at the beautiful arrays of sweet treats! They are not just good-looking but filled with “inner beauty” too! We were too full to try all but everything we had tasted awesome!

Durian cake and jackfruit puff are what Lemon Garden buffet is famous for. Our personal favourite goes to their ice-cream and sorbet, Tiramisu, Chocolate Creameux with Cocoa Strudel, and Vintage Chocolate Sable, Salted Caramel Fudge Cake. Vintage Chocolate is the best among all we tried! Thick, chocolaty, melt in mouth.
