Sashimi Moriawase

Thanks to hospitality of Shangri-La Hotel Kuala Lumpur, we had a great night in Zipangu last Friday. Managed to sample some of the signatures, but couldn’t cover all because there are so many varieties – seafood, meat, poultry, vegetables, etc. etc. etc..! Do visit, try more then let us know which is your favourite!

Soft Shell Crab Maki Roll

Sushi & Sashimi ! The first thing we will look for before everything when browsing through a Japanese menu. LOL. Salmon Sashimi, Tuna Sashimi, Kampachi Sashimi, Butterfish Sasahimi, Mix Diced Sashimi, Soft Shell Crab Maki Roll, Tuna Sushi, Salmon Sushi, Assorted Seared Sushi, Inari Sushi, California Hand Roll, Soft Shell Crab Hand Roll – we try almost all, enjoyed Assorted Seared Sushi the most.

IMG_1852

Assorted Seared Sushi

Nigri Sushi in trio fish, each with a light seared at the top to create delicate thin cooked layer while maintaining most of the raw flesh right beneath.

IMG_1833

Salmon Skin Salad

Coming to Appetizer, diners can have Edamame, Hiyayakko, Octopus Wasabi, Mozukusu, Tomato Salad, Vinegard Seaweed and Cucumber, Potato Salad, Salmon Skin Salad, Mizuna and Radish Salad, Stick Fresh Vegetable with Wasabi Mayo, Boiled Vegetable with Japanese Sauce, Avocado Sashimi, Slightly Salted Cucumber, Chef’s Special Appetizer of the day.

We personally like Vinegard Seaweed and Cucumber, Mizuna and Radish Salad, Stick Fresh Vegetable with Wasabi Mayo, as the tangy and refreshing taste helps to open up the appetite. Work great to as “palate cleanser” in between main dishes too.

IMG_1869

Crab Meat and Mizuna Soup

Continued with hot appetizer like Oden Hot Pot, Seafood Kimuchi Soup, Crab Meat and Mizuna Soup, Wafu Corn Soup, Chawanmushi, Dashimaki Tamago, Miso Soup to warm up the tummy.

IMG_1848

Dashimaki Tamago

Do check out Dashimaki Tamago, crowd favourite of the night. We ordered three helpings of this because it is so tasty! Rolled up egg omelette, burst with juiciness and sweetness of dashi. We certainly like this more than normal Tamagoyaki!
