Honey Comb Organic Soft Ice Cream @ Milkcow, The Gardens Mid Valley

Korea Milkcow premium, organic soft serve ice-cream is here in Malaysia, having the first flagship kiosk at The Gardens, Mid Valley City KL. We follow the queue and complete the marathon of four latest must-have in Mid Valley- Magnum Cafe, Tim Ho Wan Dim Sum, Madame Waffle and lastly, Milkcow Ice-cream.

Some said they queued two hours for their Milkcow ice-cream, some said one hour and so on. We were lucky enough to be there off peak hours, took just 10 minutes to get our Honeycomb Soft Serve. No matter how long is the waiting, can’t deny there is always a bee of line in front of Milkcow The Gardens since its opening in mid November.

The point: Does it tastes good? Does it worth the queue? Our Opinion: It doesn’t really worth the queue, but it is worth trying out once, as you don’t get cubed honeycomb in your ice-cream that often.

Milkcow started in South Korea, soon becoming one of the top favourite desserts in the country and now going global. Apart from soft serve ice-cream, organic coffee, candies, milkroll and homemade chocolate are also the sweet treats Milkcow specializes in.

For the first outlet in Malaysia, Milkcow brought in 11 types of ice-creams namely – Milk Way, Milky Cube, Milky Honey, Snow Drop, Black Pearl, Macao Dream , Cookie & Cream, Golden Angel, Sweet Redbean, Milky Crunch, and Milky Shot, together with coffee as main beverage.

Milky Cube RM11
We tried out the best seller, Milky Cube. At the price of RM13, we got a small cup of ice cream made from fresh organic milk as the base, topped with 100% natural honey comb. Experience the smooth, rich and deep flavour of milk, with pleasant milkiness slowly develops in the palate as the ice-cream melts in your mouth.

The gimmick surely goes to the honey comb, which perhaps the first in KL & Klang Valley. It doesn’t taste as good as we thought of. The texture falls on chewy, sticky side, we felt like munching on cellophance tape or soft plastic. Summergirl said the honey comb took her forever to chew but never dissolve. Maybe it is meant to be so. Our conclusion: Honey comb tastes so weird, but worth trying out!

Snow Drop RM11
This is more instagram-worthy, having colourful Jelly Beans as the base, layered with swirls of Milkcow premium organic soft serve ice cream and topped over with organic salt and finally, crowns fluffy, mellow soft cotton candy on it! Adorable!

In contrary to the Honey Comb Ice Cream which is milky and sweet, more original in flavour, Milkcow throws in playful taste to Snow Drop. You’ll get the dense, milky flavour from ice-cream, coupled with saltiness of salt, yet at the same time balanced up by unbearable sweetness from cotton candy.

Dig in deeper, colours and flavours of Jelly Beans take the lead, but in a light, mild way. We ended up throwing away part of the cotton candy as it was too sweet.

Afterall it is just another dessert fever that sweeps across Kuala Lumpur & Klang Valley. Despite so, no harm taking some patient and queue at Milkcow, who knows you will love it. Enjoy!
