Lim Fried Chicken @ Bandar Puteri Puchong: Famous SS14 Fried Chicken

October 2, 2016 by summerkid_summergirl

Lim Fried Chicken Bandar Puteri Puchong

Lim Fried Chicken, the legendary fried chicken from SS14 Subang is venturing into Bandar Puteri Puchong, Hicom Glemarie Shah Alam and SS15 Subang! Loyal customers who get disappointed to find their SS14 stall no longer in operation can now cheer with joys, as Mr. Lim has brought back the good old taste of his fried chicken in these 3 new shops.

Clean and spacious shops, offering fried chicken and few other equally popular dishes from 10AM to 9PM. Enjoy for lunch, dinner or teatime. Why teatime? Because back in SS14 Subang, it opened only after 2PM. We always called it is “finger licking good teatime snack”.

We visited Lim Fried Chicken in Bandar Puteri Puchong (same row with Puchong Shabu Shabu) last week, and glad that the fried chicken is still as delicious. Started with two chicken leg, greedily took a deep bite and enjoyed the paper thin crispiness delivered from the deep-fried-to-golden-brown skin;  shielding juicy, tender chicken meat beneath. Simple, non-spices loaded, but satisfying.

Lim Fried Chicken uses only fresh chicken, replenished daily, never frozen. Straight forward menu, putting together “set menu” and some ala-carte choices. Rice or chee cheong fan as carb + your choice of LFC drumstick, sambal sotong, curry mutton, fish or curry chicken + vege. Huge portion that is enough to feed two if you were small eater like Summergirl, but right size for normal eater like Summerkid.

Chee Cheong Fun + LFC Drumstick RM10

We loved the curry chee cheong fun with deep fried chicken the most. Best of both world in one plate, so there’s no reason to say no to! Smooth flat noodles, dressed in a bed of mildly spicy curry sauce, with additional sweetness from sambal served along. Let the texture goes merrier with crackling skin fried chicken! Should have added another egg for runny, oozing goodness of egg yolk.

Other ala-carte choices such as curry mutton, sambal sotong and curry chicken are noteworthy too. We especially high recommended the mutton curry – rich, flavourful gravy thickly coated to chunks of mutton in minimal gamey taste. RM7 for small is really value in price, as the kitchen staff whipped up a generous portion for us.

In short, Lim Fried Chicken is still a comfort food that will hardly fade off with time, despite the many hipster cafes and modern cuisine rising up in Klang Valley. Three decades in business and still standing strong, churning out memorable fried chicken at reasonable price. On a side note, Lim Fried Chicken is a pork free eatery place, so there is no lard being used. We also discovered that they actually having their own app at Google Play Store for their food delivery service too!
