Stir Fried Prawns with Hawthorn Flakes Sauce 山楂明蝦球

Stir Fried Prawns with Hawthorn Flakes Sauce, the winner among other dishes we sampled from Li Yen Chinese New Year menu this year. Big, bouncy prawns lightly deep fried to lock in juiciness, further stir-fried with Hawthorn sauce to coat on delightful tangy sweetness. Don’t mind having half a dozen of them. Highly recommended.

Braised Pork Knuckles with Dried Oyster and Sea Moss 髮菜蠔鼓豬手

Braised Pork Knuckles with Dried Oyster and Sea Moss, another favourite of ours! Moist, fork-tender meat set off by meltingly soft, gelatinous skin, beautifully dressed in glossy, richly flavoured sauce. So sinful but so delicious we can’t find a reason to say no to.

Claypot Rice with Chinese Waxed Meat 瓦煲臘味飯

Chinese Waxed Meat, one of the must-have during Chinese New Year. Preserved sausage, liver sausage and waxed duck meat – Laid them over white rice, steam together and it will turn amazing with bursts of flavours and aroma from preserved meat imparts into the rice.

Stir-Fried Asparagus with Fungus 黃耳愉耳炒蘆筍

Apart from the few dishes we mentioned, Li Yen Reunion dinner menu also offers popular CNY selections like Deep-Fried Prawn with Garlic, Roasted Duck & Roasted Pork Platter, Fried Rice with Waxed Meat, Double-boiled Chicken Soup with Abalone & Mushrooms, and Chicken Simmerd in Bouillon, just to name a few.
