Come early, or be ready to queue – this was what our friends told us when we asked them about Sin Tong Hong Kopitiam 新東方咖啡店, the new, much-talked-about kopitiam in Taman Paramount Petaling Jaya, same row with Fluffed Cafe & Dessert Bar.

Check out this cafe nearby : Morning Coffee & Croissant at ASA Cafe, Taman Paramount

Hailed from Sitiawan, Perak, Sin Tong Hong Kopitiam re-defined our traditional breakfast spot in a trendy way, while keeping the essence of precious kopitiam vibes. As a result, Sin Tong Hong has fast becoming a favourite dining spot once they opened, taking the social media by storm.

Business is at brisk most of the time, especially during breakfast and lunch hour. From office crowds to family, young couple, cafe hoppers, and elder generations, it is such a pleasure to see people from all walks of life getting together, enjoying some of the Malaysian favourites in a stylish, modern cafe interior. A little similar to Guan’s KL, but each having their own uniqueness. Both worth visiting.

Sin Tong Hong Kopitiam menu covers mostly traditional local delicacies. Among the must-try food here include Signature Cucur Udang, Signature Popiah, Signature Handmade Noodles with Dry Chicken Curry, Nasi Lemak with Signature Ayam Goreng Berempah, Signature Prawn Mee.

What makes Sin Tong Hong Kopitiam worthwhile is, they have been selling Malaysian style kopi and handmade noodles for decades. Uncle Tan, who is also the founder of this coffee shop, takes pride in selecting only the best quality coffee powder for his kopi recipe, and keeping the noodle making process in-house since 1999. True enough, their handmade noodles is a surprise to us. It taste so good- springy, chewy, delightful in every bite. We had it in Prawn Noodles, and it match well.  But we believe it will taste much better with the dry noodle. Already plan to return to try other dishes.

Summerkid had Nasi Lemak with Signature Ayam Goreng Berempah. Love the fragrant rice, but fried chicken took the crowd. Deeply marinated with spices, very flavourful and juicy meat, jacketed by crunchy outer layer. So delicious. The Ayam Goreng we got was actually slightly undercooked. So we informed the staff and they were so kind to help change a whole new plate for us. When we said new, it is a fresh plate of Nasi Lemak in complete portion, not just the fried chicken. Thumbs up to this.  Appreciate.

Other rice and noodles you can have here include Dry Handmade Noodles with Fresh Prawns Wantons, Handmade Dry Noodles with Dry Mutton Curry, Dry Mala Handmade Noodles with Fresh Prawn Wontons, Nasi Lemak with Fried Chicken, Nasi Lemak with Dry Mutton Curry, Hainanese Chicken Rice, Chicken Curry with Rice; as well as Hainan Toast with Kaya& Butter, Hainan Toast with Mutton Curry, Half Boiled Egg on Buttered Hainan Toast, Croissant with Kaya & Butter.

For drinks, apart from the famous kopi, kopi C, teh, teh C, teh O, white coffee, do try their STH Trio too – a combination of coffee, teh and milo. Potent in flavours, but we like it!

After visiting, we can understand the hype here at Sin Tong Hong Kopitiam. Price is reasonable, staffs are super friendly, food is good too. Highly recommend Nasi Lemak with Signature Ayam Goreng Berempah.
