Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur has unveiled its highly anticipated 2026 Mooncake Collection, a thoughtfully curated selection that honours the heritage, craftsmanship, and spirit of reunion defining the Mid-Autumn Festival. Rooted deeply in Asian culture, the festival serves as a timeless annual reminder of gratitude, unity, and the joy of sharing meaningful moments with loved ones.

The design of this year’s signature keepsake boxes draws inspiration from the natural elegance of blooming peonies and ancient Chinese coin motifs, symbolising prosperity, harmony, and abundance. Every structural silhouette and meticulous finishing touch has been crafted to elevate Shangri-La’s festive gifting into a deeply visual and tactile experience.

Curated by the culinary team at Shang Palace and led by Chinese Executive Chef Teng Kam Seng, the 2026 lineup features nine baked mooncake flavours and four snowskin varieties. Alongside beloved classics, Shangri-La introduces two innovative creations this year: Toffee Butterscotch and Matcha Strawberry.

To celebrate the launch, the hotel hosted an exclusive showcase in collaboration with acclaimed Malaysian designer Rizman Ruzaini. Blending fashion, culture, and hospitality, the event featured a striking 12-piece runway presentation of the designer’s Lunar Collection, creating a memorable setting for the unveiling of the hotel’s 2026 Mid-Autumn Festival mooncake collection.

The 2026 Mooncake Collection is presented through six thoughtfully designed gift sets, offering elegant choices for sharing with loved ones, business partners and friends during the Mid-Autumn Festival.
Baked Mooncake Selection
The selection includes White Lotus Seed Paste, smooth and delicately sweet; Lotus Seed Paste with Double Yolk, rich and traditionally celebratory; and White Lotus Seed Paste with Yolk, offering a balanced flavour profile. Other highlights include Assorted Nuts and Sun-Dried Fruits, a textured blend inspired by abundance; Pandan Lotus Seed Paste with Yolk, infused with a gentle aromatic note; and Yuzu Lotus Seed Paste with Bird’s Nest, offering a light citrus elegance. Deep, aged citrus notes define Red Bean Paste with 40-Year-Old Dried Tangerine Peel, while Custard Lava delivers a silky, molten centre. Completing the range is Toffee Butterscotch, a new creation inspired by patisserie craftsmanship with a rich caramelised finish.
Snowskin Selection
The snowskin selection presents a lighter expression of festive indulgence, featuring Matcha Strawberry, a delicate harmony of earthy matcha and natural sweetness; Musang King, highlighting Malaysia’s signature durian; Bird’s Nest and Coconut, a tropical pairing; and Black Sesame and Nutella, a playful fusion of nutty depth and chocolate richness.
