TOP 10 Cafes to Visit in Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur

10 nice cafes you should visit in Bangsar. Bangsar Kuala Lumpur is an area that never short of food. From luxurious lobster meal to high grade beef steak, Korean dessert to Australian giant milkshakes, delicious chocolate cakes to traditional pastries, artisan ice cream to healthy cold press juice, fusion pasta to homey Sarawak Laksa, etc. The list never ended, choices are getting more and more. While our pockets don’t allow us to try out every restaurant, we stick to our cafe hopping interest, discovering few of the best cafes in Bangsar.

1. Breakfast Thieves, Jalan Riong APW Bangsar

The newest cafe in Bangsar. Opened in July 2016. The brand is originated from Australia, bringing in best Melbourne brunch to Kuala Lumpur. The cafe appears like a glasshouse, with lots of ceiling to floor window glasses, themed with light colour wooden pillars and furnishing. 24-hours slow braised beef cheeks with Yuzu-infused egg benedicts is the must-try, despite the price.

2. PULP by Papa Palheta, Jalan Riong APW Bangsar

Singapore famous Papa Palheta venture in Malaysia. Located in the same compound of Breakfast Thieves, which is Art Work Printing factory beside the orange colour NSTP building. Coffee here will never disappoint, same goes to their desserts and cakes.

3. Dr. Inc, Jalan Kemuja Bangsar

If Merchant’s Lane in Jalan Petaling is the most beautiful cafe in Petaling Street area, Dr. Inc takes such title when coming to cafe in Bangsar. Thoughtfully designed area, putting together olden charm with modern design. Artistic, photography worthy at all corners, blessed with specially concocted drinks such as Fat Americano – a tall glass of Coke plus a pour of freshly pulled espresso. They sometimes held food market, salad buffet and special weekend market. Stay close to their Facebook!

4. VCR Cafe, Jalan Telawi

VCR Bangsar inherits the ambience of VCR Pudu KL. Wooden and steel furnishing with shiny table top, concrete floorings, yellow hue lights, counter and kitchen on darker colours contrasting by a little white shade. Expect coffee and food here to be equally promising. VCR Cafe Bangsar menu covers a good list of sweet and savoury dishes from the ever popular French Toast to crowd-favourite Big Breakfast. Pork-free, food price within RM30 except for VCR Big Breakfast.

5. The Pantry KL, Lorong Kurau (Closed)

Double up your brunch the feminine way with The Pantry KL rose croissant and rose latte. A pairing that has your palate filled with hints of rose aroma. Coffee may not be the best, same goes to the food but the environment scores, especially the beautiful zakka style shop front that reminds us about Cultura cafe, which used to be at the same row with it (now Pink Belly Restaurant).

6. OJO Coffee, Jalan Telawi

OJO is a Spanish word means Eye in English. The cafe, which located along one of the busiest streets near Bangsar Village, strives to bring up a concept which will be an “eye-opener” for all coffee lovers. Great cup of coffee with OJO houseblend, great ambience, unique lifestyle. The cafe is designed to have ample of plugs, hence a good place for those who loves to stay in cafe for work.

7. Bean Reserve, The Co. Bangsar

Bean Reserve Cafe is located at the quieter side of Bangsar, two streets away from Dr. Inc. Opened by the team behind Brewmen in Solaris Mont Kiara, coffee here is one of our favourites. Affogato soft serve ice cream here is noteworthy too.

8. Fancy Breakfast Club, Jalan Telawi

Fancy Breakfast Club is situated above Sangkaya Coconut Ice Cream, serving up delicacies that have received much praises from customers. They used to be in Jalan Limau Purut as pop-up underground dining place, now being more “open” as a proper cafe in Bangsar Baru. Food menu is different for weekdays and weekend. Ala-carte breakfast from Tue to Fri and Brunch menu on Sat-Sun. They sometimes closed for private events. So do call up for confirmation to avoid disappointment.

Grind 22 is your perfect coffee hide out,  surrounded by natural beauty, lush greenery. Savour lunch box by workit.my with a cup of cappuccino or specially crafted mocktails, mini frozen cheesecake by Purple Monkey and more. They opened till late on Friday and Saturday, hence a good choice for Friday Night and Saturday Fever gathering.
