Hua Hin Itinerary Day 2 : Royal Pavilion Hua Hin Hotel -> Santorini Park -> Swiss Sheep Farm -> Palace of Love & Hope -> Plearn Wan Eco Village -> Sam Phan Nam Floating Market -> Cicada Night Market -> Wilawan Hua Hin Restaurant

Hua Hin Itinerary Day 3 : Hua Hin Railway Station -> Hua Hin Beach -> Back to Bangkok

A trip to Hua Hin Thailand is suggested to plan across Friday, Saturday and Sunday, so that you will not miss one of the must-visit tourist attractions in Hua Hin, opened only during weekend – Cicada Market.

Differ from many other night market, Cicida Market is a connecting point for entrepreneurs, artists, designers, musicians, performers, tourists, students and local community, bringing together the beauty of art and creativity in one place.

Cicada Market offers a platform for musicians to perform their music, artist to showcase their drawing skills, enterpreneurs to sell their handcrafted items, etc.. This makes Cicada Market lives up to its name, where CICADA is an abbreviation for Community of Identity Culture, Arts & Dynamic Activities.

Hence in Cicada Market you will find a wide collection of handmade items ranging from keychain, clothes to bags, dolls, lamps, postcards, jewellery, portrait painting, shoes, fridge magnet, antiques, candles, hat and all things in between.

All these stalls come in action from 4PM to 11PM on Friday and Saturday, while for Sunday, they will operate from 4PM to 10PM. It is located in Khao Takiab area, around 10 minutes from the center town of Hua Hin. One can easily hop on tuk-tuk to reach, but be ready to get into unreasonable charges of 200-300baht, which happen to us. Do request if your hotel has shuttle van to send you there.

Cicada Market is separate into four sections, namely Art A La Mode, Cicada Art Factory, Amphitheatre and Cicada Cuisine.

Art A La Mode occupies major area in Cicada Market, where rows and rows of stalls will stretch out in the spacious opened-space, selling all sorts of noteworthy handcrafted items ideal for souvenir.

The center area, or Cicada Art Factory, features an array of original artworks, exquisitely done by young, ambitious artists. It covers portraits, paintings, photos, sculptures, illustrations and so on. All these artistic content not only aims to promote visitors on the wealth of art, but also opens up chances to talented artistic to have their artwork get into public view, generating revenue if possible.

Amphitheatre focuses on live entertainment performance by bands, sance troupes and theater groups. Very interesting area, as you will see visitors sing along with live bands, clap hands following the beautiful melodies.

A night market is never lack of delicious street food. At Cicada Cuisine, which is near to the entrance, visitors are welcomed to indulge in both local and international delicacies including Pad Thai, Fried Rice, Korean BBQ, grilled satay, pastas, chicken chops, and more.

We didn’t bought much in Cicada Market, but we did enjoy the atmosphere offers here – cheerful, artistic, clean, well-maintained.
