There are two popular floating market in Hua Hin, namely the Hua Hin Floating Market and Sam Phan Nam Hua Hin Floating Market. Both floating markets are built in 2011, located near to each other with less than 10 minutes drive. We suggest visitors hop on a cab to reach Hua Hin Floating Market, as they are situated on the outskirt of Hua Hin, about 20 minutes from Hua Hin town center.

Due to time constraint, we visited only Sam Phan Nam Hua Hin Floating Market, which said to be the largest floating market in Asia, putting together about 200 stalls in an area of over 100rai. The route to reach Sam Phan Nam Hua Hin Floating Market wasn’t really pleasant, lots of bumps and dusts on sandy uneven road with in-the-mist-of-developing-buildings.

“poo poo~~”. Interested to take a stroll around the whole floating market with train? Make a stop at the ticket counter near to the entrance. Fee is just 20baht.

A huge lake take the centerstage in Sam Phan Nam Hua Hin Floating Market, level up the calm, tranquil scene especially when evening falls. Website says that the market is opened from 10am till 10pm, but many stalls had already closed when we arrived at 6.00PM. Feeling bad that we were there a bit late, and didn’t see any stalls selling food on boat. So for all, do pay your visit to Phan Nam Hua Hin Floating Market earlier to avoid disappointment.

However, if you just want to take a slow walk and enjoy the sunset, then this is the ideal place and time. Most stalls here are quite tourist-oriented too, as you will see lots of handmade products, shirts, fridge magnet, postcards, snacks, popsicle, tiffin, birthday mugs, woven bag, snacks, etc..

Bought only some freshly fried cashewnuts from a stall, surprisingly good!! If you happened to pass by, make sure you buy few boxes back home~
